Teaching Assistant Job Title: Teaching Assistant (SEN)Area: Oldham, Greater ManchesterStart Date: February 2026Contract Type: Full-time (Term-time only)Salary: £110.00- £120.00 per day (depending on experience)Working hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm About the School: We are recruiting on behalf of a respected specialist school in Oldham that provides a calm, structured, and supportive environment for young people aged 11-19. The school supports pupils with Autism, ADHD, learning disabilities, and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. Known for its inclusive culture and strong teamwork, the school delivers a personalised curriculum that promotes both academic progress and emotional wellbeing. With small class sizes and a high staff-to-pupil ratio, this role offers a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in students' lives. About the Role as a Teaching Assistant: • Support pupils in the classroom, working 1:1 or with small groups, • Help deliver engaging lessons under the guidance of the class teacher, • Assist pupils with additional needs, promoting confidence, communication, and positive behaviour, • Provide encouragement and motivation - in class, during activities, or on the playground, • Experience supporting or mentoring children or young people (school, youth work, sports coaching, volunteering or similar), • Patient, approachable, and able to build positive relationships with pupils, • Good literacy and numeracy skills (GCSE Maths & English or equivalent), • Calm under pressure with a positive outlook and sense of humour, • Hold Right to Work in the UK, • Hold (or be willing to apply for) an Enhanced Child Barred List DBS registered with the Update Service Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
