Teacher of History - Maternity Cover (April 2026 Start) Location: Cullompton areaStart Date:20th April 2026Contract:Fixed Term - Minimum 12 months (maternity cover), with potential to go permanentHours:Full-time, 1.0 FTEPay:Paid to the Teacher Pay Scale (TPS) Prospero Teaching are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and inspiring Teacher of History to join a forward-thinking secondary school in the Cullompton area. This is a fantastic opportunity to teach engaging History lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, within a supportive and high-achieving Humanities department. The Role • Deliver engaging and high-quality History lessons across KS3 and KS4, • Teach a GCSE curriculum including:Medicine Through Time, Early Elizabethan England (1558-88), Superpower Relations (Cold War), and Germany 1918-39, • Contribute to a broad and diverse KS3 curriculum exploring a wide range of historical themes and periods, • Plan and deliver adaptive, inclusive lessons that meet the needs of all learners, • Support the wider life of the school through tutoring, extra-curricular involvement, and collaboration with colleagues, • Assess, track and report on student progress in line with school policy, • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), • Strong subject knowledge and the ability to teach History to GCSE, • A passion for inspiring young people, • Excellent communication and behaviour-management skills, • Experience teaching the Edexcel GCSE History syllabus, • Experience delivering high-impact interventions If you'd like to discuss the role further or explore additional teaching opportunities in the area, feel free to get in touch with Prospero Teaching Bristol.
