ARN Full- Time Family Practitioner – Early Years \n North East Birmingham Family Hub are looking for an experienced Family Practitioner to deliver services in the community and in family homes which promote child development having a primary focus on 0-5 within the 0-19 model, with flexibility for 5-19 and a “whole family approach” which includes on-going and sustained development of Family Hubs. \n As a Family Practitioner specialising in Early Years at Birmingham Family Hubs, you will play a vital role in shaping the foundation of lifelong success for children and families. With a primary focus on ages 0-5 and the flexibility to support those aged 5-19, your dedication to a whole family approach will ensure that every member receives the tailored care and support they need. Join us in making a positive impact on the lives of young children and their families, laying the groundwork for a brighter future for generations to come. \n \n Job Description \n\n • The successful Level 3 Early Years Practitioner will:\n, • To plan, provide and promote positive play within the Early Years Foundation Stage for children and support parents/carers in how they play with their children to encourage good child development, including providing sessions in family homes.\n, • To plan and provide developmental stage appropriate play activities for children using a crèche while their parents/carers participate in parent- focussed activities.\n, • To provide guidance and support to families on childcare options, child development, child and home safety, healthy lifestyle choices, and early education.\n, • To provide guidance and support to families on childcare options, child development, child and home safety, healthy lifestyle choices, and early education.\n, • To promote early literacy and brain development initiatives including but not limited to Book Start; Look, Say, Sing, Play; Tiny Happy People, First Words Together.\n, • To plan and deliver group intervention programmes and workshops, including evidence-based programmes to promote Positive Parenting, Healthy Lifestyle Choices, Home Safety and Early Language/Literacy.\n, • To undertake 2-year development reviews using the ASQ assessment to holistically assess the child’s general health, physical, social, emotional, behavioural and language development following successful completion of the competency framework\n, • To work flexibly and deliver services across the service as directed\n, • To plan and deliver group intervention programmes and workshops, including evidence-based programmes to promote Positive Parenting, Healthy Lifestyle Choices, Home Safety and Early Language/Literacy.\n, • To provide specific activities parents can use in the home to develop their child’s speech and language skills and undertake home visits where necessary.\n, • To support parents who have under 5s with SEND needs ensuring inclusive practice and signposting to additional specialist support as required.\n, • To attend and participate in multi-agency meetings as required and provide re-ports.\n, • To communicate key messages to pregnant and new parents in relation to at-tachment and bonding with their baby, providing support in a clear and empa-thetic manner.\n, • To provide support to women who are breastfeeding, encouraging the develop-ment of group support as required.\n, • To work with the parents of children under 5 who require support with their child’s emotional health and behaviour\n, • To maintain effective links with internal and external support services, staying up to date with available support services in relation to emotional health and well-being.\n, • Follow Working Together to Safeguard Children 2023 multi-agency practice standards, including timely information-sharing and cooperation with the Lead Safeguarding Partner\n\n Requirements \n\n • The successful Level 3 Family Practitioner Early Years must have:\n, • Level 3 in Child Care and Education or the equivalent\n, • Experience of developing positive relationships with children under 5 and their parents/carers enabling them to participate in the play / activity session\n, • Experience of setting up enabling environments\n, • Experience of collating and maintaining monitoring information\n, • Experience of undertaking outreach work within the community\n, • Experience of working with SEND needs and their families\n, • Experience of home visiting\n, • Experience of maintaining record keeping using systems and protocols, including conducting risk assessments\n, • Experience of planning and delivering workshops to groups of parents and 1:1 support\n, • A minimum of GCSE Grade 4 or above in Maths and English, or the equivalent if a Level 3 candidate\n, • Car driver with the ability to travel across the children’s centre area.\n, • An enhanced DBS and Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and have a legal right to work in the country\n, • Acceptable reference checks dating back two years from previous employers or educational institutions\n, • Shortlisted candidates will be subject to Teacher Regulation Agency checks & an online search as part of Ambassadors Resourcing Safer Recruitment checks\n\n Ambassadors Resourcing \n\n • Ambassadors Resourcing is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects every candidate they employ to share this commitment\n, • Ambassadors Resourcing has been helping staff in the childcare and education sector find short, long term and permanent jobs for 20 years, to great success\n, • We provide free on-line training programmes for all staff to ensure that they are up to date with current practices and changes occurring in the profession\n, • All our candidates are paid on a PAYE basis with no deduction of additional admin charges\n, • Holiday pay is paid to all our staff and access to a contributory pension is also available for those who qualify\n, • We offer a £150 bonus referral scheme\n, • This vacancy is being advertised on behalf of Ambassadors Resourcing that operates as an employment business\n
