Engineering Team Leader We are seeking an experienced engineer with strong project management capabilities to join an established team based in High Wycombe. This is a hands-on, interactive leadership role focused on developing a small engineering team while supporting product design, manufacturing, and continuous improvement across a wide range of air-movement products and future innovations. Role Overview This position is ideal for someone with solid project engineering experience, either in electronics or mechanical engineering, who has previously led a team within a manufacturing environment. • Hours: 37.5 per week, • Schedule: Monday-Friday, 09:00-17:00, • Requirements: Proven engineering experience, project management expertise, and demonstrable leadership skillsReports, • Apprentice Project Engineer, • Technical Lead, • Engineering Project ManagerKey ResponsibilitiesLeadership & Team Management, • Lead and develop a multidisciplinary team across R&D, design, and production engineering, • Foster a culture of technical excellence, innovation, structure, and accountability, • Oversee engineering projects with strategic direction and effective resource allocation, • Ensure timelines, budgets, and quality standards are consistently achieved, • Monitor performance and support professional development, • Manage recruitment, training, and succession planningProduct Design & Development, • Oversee the full product lifecycle-from concept and prototyping to testing, certification, and production handover, • Ensure compliance with ventilation, energy efficiency, and safety standards, • Work closely with product management to turn customer requirements into practical engineering solutionsTechnical & Regulatory Oversight, • Ensure designs meet relevant industry regulations, standards, and environmental requirements, • Oversee product testing, validation, and certification, • Manage relationships with suppliers, service providers, testing labs, and certification bodiesKey Competencies & RequirementsEssential, • Degree in Electronics, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering (or equivalent), • 6+ years' engineering experience, including 2+ years in a leadership role, • Knowledge of relevant manufacturing standards and regulations, • CAD experience (SolidWorks preferred), • Strong project management background, • Excellent written and verbal communication skillsDesirable, • Background in ventilation, HVAC, air handling, or similar electromechanical systems, • Experience with CFD analysis, noise reduction, or thermal performance modellingPersonal Attributes, • Strong technical problem-solver with a practical, hands-on approach, • Effective project manager, • Collaborative, people-focused leader, • Good commercial awareness, • Motivated to grow and develop professionallyBenefits, • 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, • Additional day off for birthday, • 10% bonus, • Company pension scheme, • Private healthcare Adecco acts as an employment agency for permanent recruitment and an employment business for the supply of temporary workers.
