The purpose of this role is to organise and kick start each trading day in direct collaboration with your colleagues. You will both unload the van together and set up the entire stall ready for service. You will then be required to drive the van back to the Ehla Prep Unit. Afternoon shift: You will need to collect the van from the Ehla Prep Unit in Woolwich and drive to the Market or Event location you dropped to that morning to collect the equipment and any left over food. Once arriving on site you will assist your colleagues in packing up and with their help load everything neatly and in order into the van. As the driver it is your responsibility to make sure everything goes into the van in a neat and clean manner. You will return to the Ehla Prep Unit where you will unload all food items and arrange everything neatly and accordingly into the fridges. SCRUM Theatre is seeking a highly organised and proactive Venue Manager to oversee the maintenance, operations, and safety of our new premises in Hammersmith and build relationships with communities who are underrepresented in the arts. The Venue Manager will play a pivotal role in fostering connections with local community groups in Hammersmith, as well as artists across London. They will also ensure the smooth functioning of all facilities and operations in the building, oversee all security and safety protocols, and manage relationships with stakeholders associated with the building. You’ll also be a key member of SCRUM’s democratic collective of theatremakers, as we build an exciting new theatre company and charity focused on making better theatre in better ways for the future. Individuals who may not yet have experience in the theatre industry are welcome to apply. We have secured a two-year ‘meanwhile’ lease on a premises comprising 4 large rehearsal rooms, two performance spaces, and a shared co-working space. This position is initially contracted for 3 months, with the aim of transitioning into a long-term role within the charity. The Venue Manager will work 3-5 days a week for the first month to help turn an empty space into a vibrant arts hub. Following that, you will work 2-3 days per week to oversee running and maintenance of the building after we open to the public, as well as acting as point person for our booking system, managed in collaboration with Theatre Deli. Ensure all staff holidays are taken in the current financial year; - Every termination of employment is accompanied by the payment of any accrued holiday. - Health and Safety: - Responsibilities for the Health and Safety of employees in store in accordance with UK Legislation and Brew Garden Health and Safety Policy. - Ensure the store always achieves the highest standards in Food Hygiene and Health and Safety. Take all necessary hygiene, safety and security measures needed to create and maintain the safest environment possible for employees and customers. - Monitor the status of your fire alarm, fire extinguishers on a weekly basis and emergency lightings, as per company policy. - Ensure all team members are aware of the location of their Fire Assembly Point. - Ensure fire exits and escape routes are always free of any damage or obstruction. - Report any accident or incident within the premises in the Accident Book and Area Manager. - Ensure risk assessments are reviewed every year and completed for each employee. - Make sure the first aid kit is clearly indicated to staff and available at any time. People Management - Manage the development of all employees. - -Identify training needs and development of team. - -Use leadership to motivate staff and bring them to a high level of performance. - Hold monthly meetings with employees with records kept of any meeting. - Develop good communication between employees to help maintain team spirit. - Create a positive working environment. Always be available should an employee wish to arrange a meeting with the Management, or should the employee need any support. Personnel and other departments: -Weekly meeting with Management team. - Attend all meetings and training sessions as required by your line manager and relay information to management and employees. - Supply data as required by all departments – with reasonable request and notice period. - Develop good communication between employees to help maintain team spirit. - Report any other issues to Operations Manager. - Ensure any and all ‘direct’ employees comply with Brew Garden handbook and contract guidelines.
