Role Overview: The Operations Manager is responsible for the end-to-end operational performance of Selectamark Security Systems plc, ensuring efficient, compliant and scalable delivery of products and services from the Orpington site. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the role plays a pivotal part in operational excellence, cost control, stock management and the maintenance of ISO 9001 quality standards. Key Responsibilities: Operational Leadership • Lead and manage all operational activities at the Orpington site, • Translate business strategy into clear operational plans, KPIs and performance measures, • Drive continuous improvement across people, processes and systems Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Stock Management & Logistics • Oversee production planning, inventory control and stock optimisation, • Maintain accurate stock records, valuations and reconciliations, • Ensure appropriate stock levels to meet demand while minimising obsolescence and working capital exposure, • Implement and monitor stock control procedures, cycle counts and audits, • Oversee warehousing, dispatch and distribution activities, • Manage supplier relationships, procurement and service-level performance, • Manage the production team Quality, Compliance & Risk • Take full operational ownership of the ISO 9001 Quality Management System, ensuring ongoing compliance and continuous improvement, • Act as the senior operational lead for ISO 9001 internal and external audits, including certification and surveillance audits, • Ensure all operational processes are documented, controlled and aligned with ISO 9001 requirements, • Drive a quality-led culture, embedding “right first time” and corrective/preventive action methodologies, • Ensure non-conformances are investigated with root cause analysis and corrective actions implemented and monitored, • Maintain effective document control, change management and record-keeping processes, • Ensure compliance with health & safety legislation and internal governance frameworks, • Identify, assess and mitigate operational, quality and supply-chain risks People Leadership • Lead, motivate and develop on-site operational and production teams, • Implement performance management, training and succession planning, • Foster a positive, accountable and safety-first culture Financial & Commercial Management • Manage operational budgets, cost controls and efficiency initiatives, • Monitor stock-related costs, write-offs and margin impact, • Provide accurate operational and stock performance reporting to the Managing Director, • Work closely with Finance and Sales to support commercial objectives Systems & Continuous Improvement • Maximise effective use of inventory management systems, • Identify and implement process improvements, automation and efficiencies, • Lead operational change initiatives to support growth and scalability Skills, Knowledge & Experience Essential • Proven experience in an Operations Manager or senior operations role, • Strong background in manufacturing, logistics, supply chain and stock management, • Demonstrable experience owning or managing an ISO 9001 Quality Management System, • Proven experience leading ISO 9001 audits and working with external auditors, • Strong commercial awareness, including cost control and working capital management, • Experience operating within regulated or quality-driven environments, • Excellent leadership, communication and problem-solving skills Desirable • Experience within security systems, technology, manufacturing or scientific sectors, • Knowledge of additional ISO standards, • Experience supporting operational scale and business growth What We Offer: • Purpose and Values: Alignment with the company’s mission, values, and social impact.
