The Red Shield pub is set to open in Spring 2024 in Waddesdon. We are looking to appoint key roles now in order to invest time in training and preparation for this exciting new opening in the village. A sister venture to the well established Five Arrows Hotel, the Red Shield will provide another opportunity for dining and entertaining for locals and visitors to Waddesdon Manor. The Pub Manager understands their role as an ambassador for Red Shield Pub and the Rothschild Foundation and displays pride in our products, services, and delivery of exceptional customer service, maintaining the high standards of food service in keeping with Waddesdon’s reputation. As a Pub Manager, you will ensure the smooth launch and running of the establishment; • Responsible for all daily operational aspects of the Red Shield • Maintain close control of wages and GP within budget • Provide excellent customer service, making every visitor’s experience remarkable and unique. • Ensure that the serving of food is timely, consistent, and to the highest possible standard. Liaise with the Head Chef to agree as to how you both wish each dish to be served. • Monitor customer satisfaction • Ensure that information management is meticulously maintained • Work closely with the General Manager (Hospitality) and the Red Shield Head Chef to develop the business strategy People Management: • Mentoring and guiding junior team members, fostering a culture of growth and development. • Ensure staff are trained, engaged, and proactive. • Provide strong strategic and operational leadership to the team. Ensuring the vision, values and culture are fully embedded, with clarity on objectives across the pub. • Responsible for ensuring all team members are meeting regulations, including sanitary and food safety guidelines, and checking customers identification to confirm legal drinking age. • Ensure that all front of house staff follow Health & Safety and hygiene legislation, as well as the Red Shield Standards of Procedures. • Ensure your team stays guest focused and nurture an excellent guest experience. • Ensure that all team members are respecting pub fixtures and fittings, and that the General Manager (Hospitality) is notified of all breakages and equipment failures. • Act as Fire Warden and First Aider Financial & Performance Management: • Comply with all company financial procedures • Ensure firm control of costs in pursuit of profitability, efficiency, and guest satisfaction. • Ensure every effort is made to achieve budgeted sales and operating expenditure budgets. • Undertake accurate weekly and monthly reporting and forecasting. • Supervision of takings and the reconciliation of tills with daily takings. Ensure that all discrepancies are accounted for and reported to the General Manager (Hospitality) within 24 hours. • Checking and balancing of staff and petty cash floats and the ordering of extra floats when needed from the Accounts Department. Hours: 48 hours per week, on a seven day rota to include weekends. Evenings and split shifts as required by the business. SUMMARY OF POSITION Clays floor teams are collaborative with a group of highly skilled individuals who are heavily cross trained. Clays offer a unique experience and we therefore have a unique role and requirements, this is where our Shoot Captains come in. Our Shoot Captains are the soul of our competitive socialising experience. You will bring the experience to life for our guests. For this role, We are looking for exuberant individuals with big personalities who always bring the fun and positive energy. You will run a section of our gaming pegs and control the entire guests journey for multiple groups throughout the operation. Previous hosting experience will really help you in this role. You will be expected to introduce the game, set guests up on the system and get them started. Show them how to use our Food & Beverage kiosks and support them in food and drinks orders. As well as ensuring that they are looked after with our 12 steps of service at every stage of their experience. You will understand our bookings system and how to manage the entire bookings journey, whilst also being an expert in our food & beverage operations, ensuring service is delivered to all gaming pegs in your section. You will be a critical piece of the front of house team, always looking for opportunities to enhance the guest experience, giving hints tips and guidance, driving peoples competitive spirit and engaging them in the game. Our Shoot Captains will be able to develop a rapport with the guest throughout their entire experience and leave them with a smile on their face, knowing your name and looking forward to come back.
