Pomme is a new artisan bakery opening in Shoreditch. We sell cakes, bread, pastries, coffee, and much more - all made fresh on site daily. We’re looking for a number of lovely people to join our team both full time and part time. Front of house responsibilities will include making and selling delicious coffee as well as bagging up our fresh baked goods. Our ideal candidate will have excellent customer service skills, 1 year prior experience in a similar role, and have a passion for coffee. Some of our expectations: - Make and serve delicious coffee! - Be familiar with the workings of a La Marzocco coffee machine eg how to dial in, clean etc - General FOH duties including bagging up the baked goods on display - Be able to work calmly under pressure and efficiently during peak times - Maintain and manage and supremely high standard of hygiene safety and cleanliness at all times, this includes daily cleaning and a bi-weekly deep clean. This requires a deep understanding of traditional sushi-making techniques, as well as the dexterity and artistry to create visually appealing and delicious sushi. 4. Menu Development : Collaborate on or independently design innovative and appealing sushi menus, taking into account seasonal ingredients, customer preferences, and current culinary trends. 5. Quality Control : Ensure the freshness and quality of all ingredients and finished dishes. Implement and maintain high standards of cleanliness and sanitation in the kitchen and dining area to comply with health and safety regulations. 6. Customer Service : Engage with customers, when appropriate, to explain sushi menu items, answer questions about dishes, and sometimes perform the art of sushi making in front of guests for an interactive dining experience. 7. Team Collaboration : Work closely with kitchen staff and the front of the house to ensure smooth operation and high-quality service. Train and mentor junior chefs and kitchen staff in sushi preparation techniques and kitchen management. Skills and Qualifications: - Culinary Expertise : Proven experience as a sushi chef with in-depth knowledge of sushi preparation, Japanese cuisine, and culinary arts.
