    Location: Epping / Harlow, Essex (CM16) Hours: Monday – Saturday, 9:00am – 6:00pm Job Type: Full-time Salary: Competitive, depending on experience The Role Your day-to-day responsibilities will include: • Carrying out routine vehicle maintenance and servicing., • Diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical faults., • Using modern diagnostic equipment to identify and resolve technical issues., • Carrying out repairs to a high standard and ensuring vehicles are safe and roadworthy., • Carrying out road tests when required to confirm correct operation and diagnose faults., • Carrying out jobs such as timing belts, timing chains, clutches, brakes, suspension and other mechanical repairs., • Preparing vehicles for sale and ensuring they are mechanically ready for customers., • Carrying out final checks on vehicles before they are presented for viewing or collection., • Keeping the workshop, tools and equipment clean, organised and maintained to a high standard., • Working closely with colleagues and supporting the wider workshop team., • Moving vehicles to and from other garages, bodyshops and other locations when required., • Preparing vehicles for customer viewings when needed, including rinsing down and wiping vehicles., • Occasionally travelling with colleagues to inspect vehicles that we are considering purchasing., • Supporting our sales team with vehicle collections and customer deliveries when required., • Helping with general workshop and vehicle preparation duties as part of a team. The Ideal Candidate We are looking for someone who has: • Previous experience working in the automotive industry., • Strong mechanical knowledge and practical experience., • Experience using modern vehicle diagnostic equipment., • The ability to diagnose faults accurately and work efficiently., • Experience with timing belts, timing chains, gearboxes and clutch replacements is highly desirable., • Good knowledge of both mechanical and electrical vehicle systems., • Excellent attention to detail., • A positive attitude and a willingness to get stuck in., • Good communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team., • A strong commitment to producing high-quality work., • The ability to work independently and manage workload effectively., • A full UK driving licence. What We're Looking For We want someone who takes pride in their work and understands that working within a busy dealership involves more than simply repairing vehicles. There will be times when you will need to help the wider team, whether that's moving vehicles between garages, preparing a car for a customer viewing, collecting or delivering a vehicle, or accompanying a colleague to inspect a potential purchase.
