We’re looking for a Full-Time Team Leader to help support our management team on the weekly production and packing of our healthy plant-based meal kits. The role would suit someone looking to move into their first senior/management role or seeking a change in career within a fast-growing healthy plant-based food company. Since we launched in 2020 we’ve served up over 1 million meals, been featured on BBC 1’s Dragons’ Den and we’re now one of the biggest and highest rated meal kit companies in the UK. YOUR ROLE We’re looking for a highly talented Team Leader to supervise our weekly packing/depositing operations as we look to grow rapidly in 2024. You’ll be helping out in the kitchen with our depositing team, over in our warehouse with the packers & also assisting the Managers/Supervisors in running the day to day operations of the business. PAY £13 per hour HOURS 40 hours being: Wednesday | 8am-6pm Thursday | 8am -6pm Friday | 8am -6pm Saturday | 730am-1230pm Sunday | 10am – 4pm OR 4 day working week Mon-Thurs 12pm-10pm (You will be required during training/when business needs to work daytime hours) Responsibilities will include: Supervising team members (in particular depositors and packers) to ensure high quality standards and production schedules are met Onboarding and training new team members to ensure they understand our company ethos and philosophy, and that the correct packing procedures and specifications are followed Assisting with stock ordering and inventory management Working closely with other team members on a range of tasks relating to the production of our weekly meal kits as and when required e.g. picking, packing, depositing, sealing, boxing, stock control Overall supervision of the team/operations when the Production Manager / Supervisors are busy or away Ensuring staff comply with health and safety regulations and follow sanitation practices ABOUT YOU We’re looking for someone with a positive, can-do attitude who can help solve problems and drive our team and business forward. You should have some experience managing teams and ideally have some experience in a kitchen, production or warehouse environment, but most of all we are looking for someone with a great mindset and attitude who is keen to learn and grow within an exciting business. WHO WE ARE: We are Borough 22 Doughnuts Established in 2017 a gluten free plant based bakery specialising in baked and fried doughnuts. We are now looking for a number of night bakers to join our growing team. WHAT THE JOB INVOLVES: You will be part of a small team, working at night, and will be focusing on making and preparing doughs, fillings, glazes and other kitchen preparation. The role offers approximately 30-35 hours, across 5 night shifts per week (including weekends), working mainly between 19:30 and 05:30. You will be based at our Bermondsey Bakery SE16 3DH THE CANDIDATE WE ARE LOOKING FOR MUST: - Have either at least 1 year professional experience or a suitable training qualification, with a focus on traditional dough and pastry. - Have demonstrable knowledge of mixing, shaping and hand moulding, proving and baking (preferably using commercial deck ovens). - Be numerate and organized, able to calculate recipe scaling as required, and manage production levels. - Be an effective communicator, with good spoken English. - Be adaptable, happy working unsupervised, or as part of a small team. - Be physically fit, with a hard working and committed attitude. To minimise plant stock holding and coordinate with in-house propagation to maximise the sale of homegrown products and minimise waste within Propagation. Responsibilities Include: - To achieve all KPI targets - Demand planning - to review plant stock and sales forecasts, reserves and contracts and place orders with our suppliers to ensure product availability. - To ensure products are purchased at the best prices when multiple supplier options are available - To ensure homegrown products (propagation) are the first choice supplier in all circumstances. - To minimise saleable product waste within the propagation department - To performance manage our suppliers service delivery – for clarity this is an operational function, not a price/quality function - To provide plant operational analysis (sales, stock cover, margin, availability, out of stock etc) for the buyers and the business. - Performance reporting on all plant stock matters - To work with the goods in team to resolve supplier delivery issues relating to shortages or delivery note issues - To identify overstocked items to facilitate a focussed marketing activity to address the situation. - To manage our reserved and contract-grown stock ensuring that we both satisfy our obligations without overstocking. - To work with functional management to ensure storage capacity and stock holding are aligned. - To work with the functional teams to ensure stock availability is aligned with any marketing activity - Assist in the resolution of any supplier invoice query relating to stock - Monitor and mitigate any supply chain issues - Any other reasonable duties/requests as required Key results/objectives: - Delivery of performance KPIs - Stock availability - Stock cover days - Stock holding value (COGS) - Maintain excellent supplier relationships Key experience, Knowledge and skills - Preferably of Graduate calibre or equivalent, however, this should not deter candidates who can demonstrate ability and a willingness to succeed. - Highly motivated, and a self-starter. - Holistic knowledge of the procurement function and previous experience with stock & and purchase systems - Excellent Excel skills - High level of interpersonal skills - High level of detail consciousness - Good understanding of the Microsoft Office suite of programs. - Ability to work under pressure in a volatile and time-sensitive environment - Work experience in a procurement role, preferably in the horticulture industry - Strong knowledge of the procurement process and supply chain management principles, including experience in managing supplier relationships - Proven experience and expertise in plant knowledge and the horticulture industry - Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to work collaboratively - Experience with ERP systems and other procurement software - Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and thrive in an ever-changing, fast-paced environment
