COMMIS CHEF - BAO BATTERSEA Salary - Up to £14 ph Schedule - Full Time Experience - Passion for cooking The recently opened BAO Battersea are seeking a Commis Chef to join their team. The successful candidate will be friendly, personable and passionate about all things food and drink. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Commis Chef looking for a new role in an award winning, critically acclaimed group. The Restaurant Each BAO location represents a different slice of culture in Taiwan. BAO Noodle Shop is inspired by the beef noodle shops of Taiwan. Specialising in bowls of noodle, made in house using specially imported flour, BAO and xiao chi; and for those who like to sing whilst they eat, a Jacque Tati ‘Playtime’ inspired Karaoke room. The Position As a Commis Chef, you will be working in the open kitchen preparing mise en place for the Chefs de Partie. You'll assist CDPs in producing outstanding and creative dishes, using fresh local ingredients and innovative recipes to wow our guests. If you are an enthusiastic team player who is passionate about food and hospitality, have excellent attention to detail, and a willingness to learn and develop with us, then we want to hear from you. Good knowledge of or experience in Asian cuisine and culture is a bonus! The successful Commis Chef will learn You'll receive a personalised development plan including a clear progression route. THE ROLE As Sous Chef, you'll be working closely with the Head Chef in leading your team from the front, drawing on previous chef and management experience. We want to bring in someone who is going to be proud of what we do, as we're continually working hard to be top of our game in the competitive burger market. Key responsibilities for the role are to assist the Head Chef in: Running the service element of the kitchen (cooking standards, prep levels, managing the team) Hygeine and Cleanliness levels + Health and Safety Standards (Due Diligence, Record Keeping, overall compliance.) Stock Management (Ordering, minimising wastage, staying on top of rotation) Management of the team (development and training, rotas, recruitment, maintaining great team culture) Menu Development with the group head chef, designing specials.
