JOB TODAY, the UK’s number one mobile hiring app, is championing females in the British workforce, by commissioning acclaimed British photographer, Lewis Khan, to capture how the iconic ‘Saturday Girls’ role has evolved over the decades, with an exhibition taking place in London this November.

Viewing times:
Thursday, 1st November: Press viewing only
Friday, 2nd November: 10.30am - 6pm (open to the general public)
Saturday, 3rd November: 11am - 5pm (open to the general public)

‘Saturday Girls’, a term coined decades ago that describes women using part-time, weekend work to enhance their lives and prospects, has developed where British women have become more entrepreneurial, tech savvy, and may even juggle multiple jobs to enjoy more flexibility.

This celebratory ‘Saturday Girls’ exhibition, will exhibit modern women aged between 16—29 years old from Glasgow, down to Newcastle, Birmingham, London and beyond, where you can view and find out why these ladies are killing it in the workplace.

The documentary style exhibition of girls includes:

COLLETTE CONLIN

An usher at the Theatre Royal in Newcastle who hopes to become a star performer herself one day.

SUZIE HAWKINS

The green fingered Saturday Girl from Manchester that started as an intern and now works Saturdays to teach floristry to others.

A weekend hairdresser that is studying Computer Science at Coventry University.

HELEN ADEYERA

By commissioning this exhibition, JOB TODAY, aims to outline the importance of casual roles in the modern day workplace, which give young people the financial freedom to pursue their own personal projects whilst learning new skills.

Polina Montano, Co-Founder of JOB TODAY comments, “The Saturday Girl role has been around for decades, and for most, it offers a stepping stone to enter the workforce to gain the skills needed that develop into full-time roles, or helps support women financially with other ventures. This exhibition celebrates the importance of this role and women across Britain that are using it to work in different industries to do great things. We are thrilled to present this collection of Saturday Girls for the first time in Britain.”
