An HVAC Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems in residential, commercial, or industrial settings. This role ensures HVAC equipment operates efficiently, safely, and in compliance with industry standards. Key Responsibilities: Install, inspect, maintain, and repair HVAC and refrigeration systems. Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and control system issues using specialized tools and equipment. Perform routine preventive maintenance to maximize system performance and lifespan. Test HVAC systems to ensure proper operation and energy efficiency. Replace or repair defective components, including motors, compressors, thermostats, fans, filters, and electrical controls. Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals. Ensure all work complies with local building codes, safety regulations, and company standards. Document service work, maintenance records, and repair recommendations. Communicate with customers regarding system issues, repair options, and maintenance recommendations. Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean, organized work environment. Respond to emergency service calls as needed. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical HVAC training preferred. 2+ years of experience in HVAC installation, maintenance, or repair. Knowledge of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems. Ability to troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and refrigeration components. EPA Section 608 Certification preferred or required, depending on local regulations. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Strong problem-solving, communication, and customer service skills. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in confined spaces, at heights, and in varying weather conditions. Preferred Skills: Experience servicing residential and commercial HVAC systems. Familiarity with digital controls, thermostats, and building automation systems. Knowledge of electrical systems, refrigerant handling, and airflow balancing. Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality workmanship. Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
