Position Overview: As a Cook, you'll be responsible for preparing and cooking menu items to order, maintaining food quality and presentation, and keeping the kitchen clean and organized. Our menu requires a moderate level of culinary skill, so you'll need a solid foundation in cooking techniques and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities: Prepare and cook menu items consistently according to recipes and quality standards Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including food storage, prep areas, and cooking stations Ensure proper handling, storage, and labeling of food Work with the kitchen team to manage prep and stock levels Follow health and safety regulations at all times Collaborate with bartenders and servers to ensure timely food service Qualifications: 1–2 years of kitchen experience preferred, especially in a bar or casual dining setting Basic knife skills and knowledge of kitchen equipment Ability to follow recipes and prep lists Dependable, punctual, and team-oriented Able to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed

Food preparation: Reviewing recipes, assembling and combining ingredients, and cooking food using various methods like grilling, frying, and sautéing Food handling: Ensuring proper food handling, sanitation, and storage procedures Presentation: Paying attention to the detail and presentation of each order Waste control: Controlling and minimizing food waste Safety: Complying with safety regulations and procedures

Oak and Orange Hospitality is looking for a Lead Line Cook to assemble & prep our sandwiches, salads & breakfast during service at our eatery and market in Mineola, Long Island. Great opportunity to grow within the company! Full-time with the potential for part-time. Hours are 7:30am-4pm Monday-Friday for breakfast shift and/or lunch as shift needed. Great work/ life balance! -Has experience making sandwiches, salads and/or eggs in a fast-casual dining environment either in the FOH or BOH (you will be building sandwiches behind a customer-facing line) OR experience working on a line in the front of house. -Ability to communicate with kitchen staff, and FOH staff -Prep sandwich, salad and/or breakfast station which includes slicing/dicing veggies, slicing meats, making spreads, dressing & follow basic recipes for sandwich fillings (eggplant, egg salad) etc. -Follow open/close procedures and maintain a clean station -Ability to work as a team & plan your day to maximize efficiency -Maintains a calm demeanor during periods of high-volume -Responsible and has good communication skills -Able to stand, bend, and reach for the entire shift -Lift 30 pounds -Experience working with a meat slicer is a plus but not required -Reliable
