  Job Description Job Summary: The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing a wide range of tasks to support the company's operational needs. This includes executing routine maintenance, diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical systems, and installing new equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of technical principles and be proficient in using a variety of tools and diagnostic equipment. They must be committed to maintaining a safe working environment and have excellent problem-solving skills. Major Responsibilities/Activities: • Implement preventative and predictive maintenance plans for existing and future manufacturing equipment., • Troubleshoot manufacturing equipment consisting of a variation of PLC control systems (Beckhoff, Siemens, and AB), sensors, electric motors, servo motors, pneumatics, and hydraulics., • Work with programmers/engineers in Germany should the need arise for outside support, • Enter maintenance and troubleshooting information into a computer program for maintenance history, • Work with Engineering to recommend, document and order critical spare parts essential for daily operations., • Work with Engineering on R&D project installations/monitoring., • Fabricate repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment as needed., • Maintain continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs., • Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with safety procedures, rules, and regulations., • Must be familiar and comply with all safety rules., • Entry of work orders into the CMMS system, • Must have at least 5 years’ experience as a maintenance technician, • Must have PLC experience, • Strong computer skills, • Ability to read electrical schematics/diagrams, • Ability to work in a team environment Maintenance Technician, • Effective communicator, • Experience with pneumatics required, • Experience with automated systems required, • Be able to safely lift or move at least 50 lbs., • Be able to safely climb stairs or ladder., • Be able to work in cold or hot working conditions, • Expected travel will be <5% Equipment Used: Fork trucks, hand trucks, and side loaders. The Machine Shop Maintenance Supervisor will oversee maintenance and repairs of electrical, mechanical items related to machine operations, will assist in troubleshooting and diagnostics of machine related issues to ensure quality. Supervisory Duties Responsibilities: • Provide day to day supervision of maintenance personnel, • Promotes a Safety conscious work environment, • Hires and trains maintenance department staff., • Determine schedules sequences, and assignments for work activities based on work priority, quantity of equipment and the skill of personnel, • Monitory inventories and condition of maintenance shop to ensure safe adequate working conditions. Order repair material and spare parts as needed, • Analyze equipment failure to prevent future problems, • Observes and test the operation of machinery or equipment to diagnose malfunctions, using voltmeters or other test devises, • Analyze test results, machine error messages or information obtained from operators to diagnose equipment problems, • Perform Root Cause Analysis to determine failures and implement corrective actions, • Assist in Capital Expenditures planning by providing input regarding equipment failure history and recommending equipment upgrades, • Record repairs and maintenance performed, • Compile operational or personnel records, such as time and production records, inventory data, repair or maintenance statistics, or test results, • Develop, implement or evaluate maintenance policy and procedures, • Assists with departmental budget estimates and costs of specific repair projects., • Ensures maintenance and repair work is completed correctly and in a timely manner., • Performs other related duties as assigned., • Counsel employees about work related issues and assist employees to correct job skill deficiencies, • Investigate accidents or injuries and prepares reports of findings Requirements: Required Skills/Abilities: • Extensive knowledge of PLC, CNC and NC machinery, • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills., • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude., • Ability to identify issues and determine repairs that are needed., • Excellent management and supervisory skills., • Proficient with Microsoft Office, CMMS software, Oracle, • BS in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering or combination of education and experience, • At least five years of maintenance experience in a machine shop environment required., • Minimum of three years supervisory experience in a union shop (preferred), • Strong computer skills, • Ability to read and interpret blue prints and technical specifications, • Analytical and problem-solving skills Physical Requirements: • Ability to work in hot/cold and dusty environments, • Ability to walk and climb stairs, • Must be able to traverse property and facility to diagnose issues and plan repairs or maintenance., • Must be physically able to perform repairs when needed., • Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time., • Must be able to wear appropriate PPE The above duties and responsibilities designated as essential job functions are subject to reasonable accommodation.
