BASIC PURPOSE To provide a safe and reliable fleet by performing preventative maintenance and proper repairs on all fleet equipment. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Perform preventative maintenance within DOT standards. * Complete all required repairs on diesel equipment (i.e., tractors, trailers, bobtails, lift gates, etc.). * Take directions from and assist senior technicians with repairs. * Utilize fleet maintenance system tablet to fully document equipment repair and parts used. * Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with workplace safety rules/regulations and government guidelines. * Willingness and capacity to assume increased responsibility and certifications. * Other duties as assigned by manager. QUALIFICATIONS * Must have 1 year of verifiable hands-on experience as a heavy-duty commercial diesel mechanic. * Must furnish own personal hand tools. * Able to read and write legibly (e.g., to attend trainings, hold conversations, receive safety and job-related coaching, and enter information on reports if needed); basic mathematical skills (add, subtract, divide). * Must possess a valid driver's license. * High school diploma or equivalent required. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS * Valid Class A CDL license and DOT certification * Experience with Maximo fleet maintenance system * Previous mechanical and PM program experience * Experience using fleet maintenance software * Welding ability WORK ENVIRONMENT * Onsite: The associate in this role is expected to perform assigned responsibilities inside a US Foods maintenance facility. * Ability to work flexible schedule. * Must be willing to work in extreme temperatures and weather conditions. Twisting Occasionally Compensation depends on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law. The expected base rate for this role is between $35 and $40.
