The Dispatcher at plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation of our trucking services. This position is responsible for coordinating the movement of trucks, communicating with drivers, scheduling deliveries and pickups, and ensuring that all transportation activities are executed in compliance with company policies and legal requirements. Key Responsibilities: 1. Scheduling and Routing: - Plan and schedule the daily routes for drivers. - Optimize routes to maximize efficiency and minimize costs. - Ensure timely deliveries and pickups according to customer requirements. 2. Communication: - Serve as the primary point of contact for drivers. - Provide drivers with instructions and updates on routes, delivery details, and other pertinent information. - Address any issues or emergencies that arise during transportation. 3. Tracking and Monitoring: - Monitor the real-time status of trucks and shipments. - Use GPS and other tracking tools to ensure the efficient movement of vehicles. - Keep detailed records of driver activities and shipment statuses. 4. Customer Service: - Maintain strong relationships with customers. - Address customer inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally. - Coordinate with customers to schedule delivery and pickup times. 5. Compliance and Safety: - Ensure all transportation activities comply with company policies, industry regulations, and safety standards. - Monitor drivers’ adherence to hours of service regulations and other legal requirements. - Coordinate with the maintenance team to ensure trucks are in good operating condition. 6. Reporting and Documentation: - Maintain accurate records of dispatch activities, driver logs, and shipment details. - Prepare and submit regular reports on transportation metrics and performance. - Assist with administrative tasks as needed. Qualifications: - High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certifications in logistics or transportation is a plus. - Proven experience as a dispatcher or in a similar role in the trucking or transportation industry. - Strong knowledge of transportation regulations and safety standards. - Excellent communication and organizational skills. - Proficiency in using dispatch software and GPS tracking systems. - Ability to work under pressure and handle emergency situations effectively. - Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
