Job Description General Description: We are seeking an Accounting Manager / Controller whom is capable of helping support our ongoing and exciting growth as a Civil Engineering and Land Surveying company. The Controller will oversee project accounting, financial report, AR/AP, enforce proper accounting methods are in place and is responsible for overseeing team members within the accounting department. There are currently three (and a half) direct reports within the accounting department. Responsibilities • Prepares financial reports at various time periods (weekly, monthly quarterly) such as income statements and cash flow reports., • Assists with budgets and forecasting., • Reviews data entered into accounting system by staff within our accounting department to ensure best practices are being taken., • Works closely with other departments to ensure that data is being properly prepared, shared and utilized., • Oversees payroll, benefits accrual, prevailing wage compliance and other similar tasks., • Identify efficiencies and opportunities to enhance accounting practice., • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required, • Master’s degree in related field preferred, • 7 years accounting experience minimum, • Experience working with payroll processing software required, • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, • Excellent organizational and time management skills, • Stable individual with a high level of honestly, integrity and reliability whom always strives for excellence., • Strong and focused worth ethic whom anticipates problems and solves them.
