We are actively seeking a Lifeguard to help oversee our swimming activities. Camp Lifeguard Qualities • Ability to guard the health and well-being of campers while in or around the pool at all times, • Responsible, Dependable, Level-Headed, Flexible, and Calm in all situations, • Current certification in lifeguard training or equivalent, • Current certification in first aid and CPR (advanced certification may be required based on camp location and site of delivery of aquatic program), • Prior experience working with children, • Supervise and guard all swimming activities at the aquatics facility and ensure that policies, guidelines, and safety procedures are followed, • Assist Camp Director/Staff with any pool related responsibilities as needed included but not limited to camper swim assessments, • Warn swimmers of improper activities or danger and enforce pool regulations and water safety policies, • Direct swimmers out of the pool in hazardous conditions, • Provide rescues as needed, • Administer first aid in the event of injury, rescue swimmers in distress or danger of drowning, and administer CPR and/or artificial respiration, if necessary, • Evaluate conditions and monitor weather reports for safety and initiate aquatics emergency action plan as required, • Inspect pool facilities, equipment, and water as well as maintain a clean environment in and around the pool area to ensure that they are safe and useable Our camp is located at Hampshire Country Club in Mamaroneck, NY.
