Overview This position is for an armed Protective Security Officer (PSO) assigned to the Social Security Administration (SSA) office in Wilkes-Barre, PA. All PSOs provide armed security services at designated federal buildings and installations. Position Summary SSA Protective Security Officers are responsible for maintaining the safety and security of federal facilities, personnel, and visitors. PSOs perform access control, monitoring, inspections, and emergency response while ensuring compliance with federal security requirements. Primary Responsibilities Secure federal buildings and government property Protect federal employees, visitors, and assets Control access to SSA facilities Conduct inspections and perimeter checks Respond to alarms, incidents, and emergencies Prepare clear, accurate, and professional written reports Licensing Requirements Applicants must possess a current and valid Pennsylvania Act 235 Armed Guard License.
