Learn more about our impactful work at communitymainstreaming.org. Overview: As a Cook/Housekeeper you are responsible for ensuring all food services functions at the house are executed. Additionally, the Cook ensures the safety of food handling practices, proper sanitation, and compliance with state and federal safety regulations. What You Will Do: • Overseeing the safe and efficient operation of the culinary area., • Managing grocery shopping and/or ordering supplies., • Preparing raw ingredients for recipes, including washing, chopping, storing, and handling., • Creating well-balanced, nutritious, and appealing meals tailored to participants’ dietary needs and restrictions, with appropriate substitutions as needed., • Developing and updating menus, maintaining grocery inventory, and assisting with kitchen equipment upkeep., • Assisting in planning and scheduling special occasion parties., • Following established recipes and using designated ingredients., • Practicing portion control and adhering to diet orders and physician recommendations., • Complying with all food handling and safety regulations., • Managing food storage, refrigeration, and inventory rotation., • Promoting safe food handling practices and encouraging accountability among clients., • Maintaining a clean and orderly workstation and kitchen equipment., • Reporting maintenance needs or hazardous conditions to the Manager or Maintenance Department., • Notifying the supervisor immediately of any necessary house or appliance repairs. Work Hours/Schedule: Full-time, 32 hours per week. Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Community Mainstreaming Associates is an equal opportunity employer.
