Job DescriptionA day in this role You start your shift by reviewing assembly drawings, parts lists, operation sheets, and visual aids. With a clear plan, you set up tooling and begin assembling precision components for hydraulic and pneumatic valves, following blueprints, schematics, and established manufacturing procedures. As you move through the build, you install components, perform wiring and hand soldering as needed, and verify each step against the traveler/routers. By midday, you’re documenting objective evidence for Quality Control, confirming that every requirement and functional criterion has been met to spec. You run mechanical checks to blueprints and ATP’s, then transition to testing on hydraulic and pneumatic test stands and conduct electrical checks (Dielectrical, Ohm Meter, DITMCO). Accuracy matters—you perform visual and dimensional inspections on in-process assemblies and finished goods, keeping FOD, ESD, and material handling best practices front and center. Throughout the day, you rely on your toolkit—screwdrivers, torque and standard wrenches, pliers, nut drivers, power drivers, soldering iron, and crimpers—to complete high-quality work on time. You manage your workload with minimal supervision, maintain productivity and quality standards, and apply strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills. The role requires dexterity to handle small parts and may involve sitting for extended periods. What you’ll handle • Assemble mechanical devices for fluid control (hydraulic/pneumatic valves) using drawings, work instructions, blueprints, and schematics., • Perform component installation, wiring, hand soldering, and routing on assembly units., • Complete and maintain traveler/routers; present objective evidence to Quality Control for all required steps., • Execute mechanical assembly and testing in accordance with blueprints and ATP’s., • Operate hydraulic/pneumatic test stands; perform electrical testing (Dielectrical, Ohm Meter, DITMCO)., • Conduct visual and dimensional inspections for in-process and finished assemblies., • Apply best practices for FOD, ESD, and material handling controls., • Meet productivity targets while ensuring accuracy and thoroughness; perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications, • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent (High School / GED)., • Experience: 2+ years in mechanical assembly with hydraulic and pneumatic systems; aerospace experience preferred; electrical experience is helpful., • Skills: Troubleshooting and mechanical troubleshooting, soldering, pneumatics, hydraulics, blueprint reading., • Tools: Proficient with hand tools including screwdrivers, torque and standard wrenches, pliers, nut drivers, power drivers, soldering iron, and crimping devices.
