Residential & Short-Term Rental Cleaner — Independent Contractor Bestom Kleen Inc. is seeking a dependable, hardworking, and detail-oriented cleaner to provide residential and short-term rental cleaning services throughout New York City. We are looking for someone who takes cleaning seriously and understands that reliability, punctuality, professionalism, and the ability to follow instructions are just as important as cleaning ability. This is a contract/on-call position. Work is based on client bookings and company needs, so a fixed number of weekly hours is not guaranteed. Responsibilities • Clean residential homes, apartments, and short-term rental properties., • Clean bathrooms, kitchens, bedrooms, living areas, floors, appliances, and other assigned areas., • Make beds and prepare short-term rental properties for incoming guests when required., • Follow Bestom Kleen cleaning procedures and property-specific instructions., • Complete assigned areas thoroughly and within the scheduled cleaning period., • Work independently and as part of a team when required., • Follow the direction of the assigned supervisor., • Report problems, damages, missing supplies, or incomplete work immediately., • Maintain professional behavior while inside or around client properties. What We Are Looking For The right candidate must be: • Reliable and punctual., • Detail-oriented and thorough., • Comfortable performing physically demanding cleaning work., • Able to work efficiently and maintain a reasonable cleaning pace., • Able to follow instructions without repeatedly being reminded., • Receptive to correction and willing to redo work when necessary., • Professional and respectful toward supervisors, coworkers, clients, and client property., • Able to communicate when confused rather than making assumptions., • Able to travel reliably to assignments throughout New York City., • Comfortable using a smartphone and scheduling/team applications. Previous professional cleaning experience is preferred; however, work ethic, reliability, coachability, and attention to detail are equally important. Scheduling & Reliability Applicants must provide honest and realistic availability. Once you accept an assignment, you are expected to honor that commitment and arrive on time. Repeated lateness, last-minute cancellations, failure to appear for accepted assignments, or failure to communicate appropriately are not compatible with Bestom Kleen's standards. Because our cleaners work inside clients' homes and short-term rental properties, professionalism and dependability are essential. Selection Process Bestom Kleen uses a multi-stage selection process. Qualified applicants will first be invited to an approximately 30-minute virtual interview. The strongest candidates may then be invited to complete a paid working evaluation on an actual cleaning assignment. The evaluation allows us to observe cleaning quality, productivity, ability to follow instructions, communication, professionalism, work ethic, and response to feedback. Participation in an interview or paid working evaluation does not guarantee ongoing assignments. Candidates selected following the working evaluation will enter Bestom Kleen's four-week probationary period.
