We are looking for a creative and detail oriented individual with experience in residential design to join our team. Candidates must be self-motivated and efficient in developing hardscape layout plans, construction details, and planting plans. The individual must have good communication skills, a proficiency in Auto-cad, and a working knowledge of northeastern plant materials. Sketch Up and Photoshop proficiency is a plus.   Job Description Job Title: Independent Contractor – Field Construction Manager (Residential Development) Location: Northern New Jersey Contract Type: 1099 / Independent Contractor Project Type: Residential Development We are seeking an experienced Field Construction Manager to support on-site oversight for an upcoming residential development project in Northern NJ. This is an independent contractor role ideal for a seasoned construction professional who can manage day-to-day field activities, coordinate subcontractors, and ensure quality, schedule, and safety standards are met. Key Responsibilities: • Oversee daily construction operations for residential site and building activities, • Coordinate, schedule, and supervise subcontractors, • Monitor construction progress and maintain project timelines, • Conduct site inspections to ensure quality control and adherence to plans/specs, • Report field conditions, issues, delays, and recommendations to project leadership, • Review and verify subcontractor work for approval and billing, • Enforce safety compliance and jobsite cleanliness, • Assist with punch list creation and closeout activities, • Maintain strong communication with ownership, design consultants, and trade partners Qualifications: • 10+ years of field construction management experience (residential required), • Strong knowledge of building codes, site development, and construction best practices, • Ability to read and interpret architectural, civil, and engineering plans, • Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills, • Reliable transportation and ability to be on site regularly, • Proficiency with basic reporting tools (email, photos, cloud-based logs), • Must be able to work as a 1099 independent contractor Contract Details: • Full-time for 12-months, • Competitive hourly rate based on experience, • On-site work in Northern New Jersey How to Apply: Please submit your resume and a brief summary of relevant experience.
