We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Afternoon Milker to join our dairy farm team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the milking process during the afternoon shift, focusing on cow care and maintenance of milking equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate milking robots efficiently while ensuring the well-being of the cows.
- Identify and fetch problem cows that require special attention.
- Clean and maintain the milking robots to ensure hygiene and optimal performance.
- Hand scrape around the barn to maintain cleanliness and comfort for the herd.
- Change milk filters and perform routine maintenance on milking equipment.
- Retrieve any cows that have not entered the milking robot in a while, ensuring full participation of the herd in the milking process.
- Monitor cow health and report any issues to the farm management.
- Collaborate with other team members to support overall farm operations and animal welfare.
Qualifications:
- Experience in dairy farming or animal husbandry is preferred but not required.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow hygiene protocols.
- Ability to work efficiently and independently while managing time effectively.
- Good physical stamina and the ability to perform manual tasks.
- Strong communication skills and teamwork orientation.
