  Job Description L OCAL CDL-A DRIVER – CHESTER, NY (250-MILE RADIUS) This is a local grocery delivery position operating within a 250-mile radius of Chester, NY. Drivers run fresh and frozen freight to supermarkets and distribution centers with consistent work, strong local management, and reliable miles. POSITION OVERVIEW • Local operation within 250 miles of Chester, NY, • Deliver fresh and frozen groceries, • Operate 48’, 51’, and 53’ reefer trailers, • Delivery area includes:, • NY Hudson Valley, • Connecticut, • New Jersey, • Pennsylvania (backhauls), • NYC & Long Island after required training, • Only 20–25% of freight delivers into NYC, • New drivers will NOT run NYC until:, • 6 months on the account, • Completion of training with NYC-certified trainers SCHEDULE • Start time: Between 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM, • Work schedule: Wednesday – Sunday, • Days off: Tuesday & Wednesday, • 5-day work week, • 6th day available on a voluntary basis, • 6th day becomes mandatory around major holidays:, • Thanksgiving, • Christmas, • New Year’s, • Memorial Day, • Labor Day, • July 4th PAY & ADDITIONAL COMPENSATION • Stop Pay:, • $28.50 – $30 per stop (non-NYC), • Detention Pay:, • $15/hour after 1 hour at a store, • $15/hour after 2 hours at a backhaul, • Safety Training Pay:, • $20/hour, • Double dock pay in place JOB DETAILS • Multi-stop routes (typically 15+ stops per week), • Drivers usually run:, • Two shorter loads per day, or, • One longer load, • Drivers pick up:, • Return product at final stop, or, • A backhaul returning to the DC, • Mostly no-touch freight, • Customer unloads, • Driver assists as needed, • If supporting other local accounts, drivers may:, • Use a pallet jack, • Training provided EQUIPMENT • Slip-seat operation, • Account attempts to keep drivers in the same trucks when possible, • Automatic and manual day cabs, • Trucks cannot be taken home, • Equipment averages 3 years old or newer, • Uniforms provided and maintained by the account SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS • Personal, reliable transportation required to and from work daily, • Drivers may support nearby local accounts as needed CUSTOMER & WORK EXPECTATIONS • Strong customer service skills required, • Professional interaction with store personnel, • Safety-focused, dependable, and flexible, • Consistent work available year-round HOLIDAY SCHEDULE (ACCOUNT LEVEL) • Thanksgiving: Off, • Christmas: Off, • New Year’s: Not guaranteed WHY DRIVERS LIKE THIS ACCOUNT • Consistent local work, • Easy freight — customer unloads, • Strong relationship with C&S, • New management with experienced leadership, • Improved equipment and higher W-2 earnings, • Stable, long-term operationCompany DescriptionIf you qualify you will go through a background check and scheduled for orientation.
