Seeking an in-home (full-time) staff to provide Respite Care, Community Habilitation and assistance to and from medical appointments for an adult male...35 years of age with autism. I am a "stay at home" mom and will be assisting staff to learn and understand the needs of my son. The program that you’ll be working from is through NYS OPWDD and it is called Self Direction.


  • Staff will assist my son in carrying out various tasks around the house/house hold chores/activities following the staff action plan.
  • Daily and monthly note taking using mobile app.
  • Staff will assist me (mom) in taking my son out in the community to various places of his choosing.
  • During respite hours staff will monitor my son to ensure that his needs are met and assistance with ADL (activities of daily living) are provided.
  • Very light house keeping.
  • Light meal preparation.
  • Experience working with adults on the Autism Spectrum is required!
  • High School Diploma or GED Certificate is REQUIRED.
  • A background check is REQUIRED for all potential applicants!
  • Full time shift:

Monday through Thursday: 10am to 6pm


($23 per hour for Respite Services, $28 per hour for Community Habilitation Services).
Some computer knowledge is required!!! Paid time off & health insurance included.
