The Histotechnologist is accountable for thehistology handling/storing of irreplaceable clinical trialspecimens. The Histotechnologist supports the various teams of theSpecimen Management Center and is a liaison between SpecimenManagement and others departments. The Histotechnologist willactively liaise with the CCLS project management team, InvestigatorSupport Team and client to resolve and clarify questions and/ orissues related to management and preparation of the histologysamples. Specific department duties as set forth in the task listand/or department training checklists including but not limited to:* • Utilize knowledge and experience with histology samples tomaintain proper storage conditions and facilitate accessioning ofblocks and slides (stained and unstained). * • Routinedecalcification, processing, embedding, microtomy and re-embeddingof human tissue specimens from patients enrolled in clinicaltrials. * • Perform Immunohistochemistry testing according toprotocols and SOPs. * • Perform slide scanning as required andaccording to protocols. * • Ensure that Special Handling specimensare picked up from the appropriate area, sorted, accessioned,pre-scanned and registered into the appropriate temperature bins ina timely fashion. * • Generation and application of specializedlabels to include aliquot and/or mini labels with client specificelements. * General duties including but not limited to: * •Resolve pendings.
