Regulatory and Economic Resources Division Chief 3 (Deputy Building Official) JO# 50527 Department of Regulatory and Economic Resources Salary Range: $105,919 - $177,333 Recruitment Notes: This is advanced professional and administrative work in permitting and directing activities for the Construction, Permitting and Building Code Division of the Miami-Dade Department of Regulatory and Economic Resources. Responsibilities include serving as Deputy Building Official for Unincorporated Miami-Dade County and providing direction and guidance to subordinate supervisory staff on a variety of issues pertaining to the effective administration of the trade divisions and in the resolution of complex administrative problems. The individual should exercise considerable independent judgement in coordinating complex development projects for permitting, and guiding applicants through the regulation activities and other related division services. Supervision is exercised through subordinate Division Directors over professional, technical and clerical employees engaged in various phases of section and unit operations. General direction is received from the Assistant Director Building Official who holds the individual responsible for professional management of the activities and services, and achievement of desired goals and objectives. The Construction, Permitting and Building Code Division is responsible for the timely issuance of building permits for construction in unincorporated Miami-Dade County; and the overseeing the timely issuance of municipal permits encompassing the fire, water and sewer, environmental and impact fees reviews - applicable throughout all incorporated areas of the County.
