Associate Radiation Safety Officer.
Job Description Responsibilities In this role, you will serve as the Senior Health Physicist and Associate Radiation Safety Officer for the Westwood and Santa Monica Medical Centers and the Resnick Neuropsychiatric Hospital (RNPH) and act as a subject matter expert and Program Manager for radiation safety for UCLA Health and EHS professionals. You will be responsible for monitoring the use of radioactive materials and radiation producing equipment, directly supervise the EHS Radiation Safety Division personnel; conduct radiation safety training, manage dosimetry program and assist medical staff in therapeutic administration of sealed and unsealed radioactive materials. You will follow the mandates under California and Federal Radiation Control Regulations for use of radioactive materials and radiation machines and work closely with the UCLA campus Radiation Safety Officer. Qualifications Required: * Knowledge of healthcare related radiation safety equipment, policies and procedures * Working knowledge of radiation safety regulations under Title 17, California Code of Regulations and Titles 10, 21, and 49, Code of Federal Regulations * Skill in developing, implementing and maintaining a Safety Program * Skill in reading, understanding and interpreting National and State laws and Hospital Safety codes * Ability to supervise employees fairly and without bias * Ability to lead committees, meetings and employees and lead presentations/trainings * Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with other staff members, managers, administration and external persons and regulatory agencies * General knowledge of hospital communication systems, including voice paging, smart phone technology, 2-way radio equipment and other computer-based programs UCLA is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
