Job Details Line Cook / Hot & Cold Line / Wok Cook Grandma’s Home is a regional Chinese restaurant located in Manhattan’s Flatiron neighborhood. We are looking for an experienced Line Cook to work at our hot/cold line, hot pass, or wok station. Job Summary This role is responsible for preparing and cooking dishes according to our recipes while maintaining speed, consistency, quality, and food safety throughout service. Responsibilities • Set up and maintain a properly stocked mise en place station, • Prepare ingredients and dishes according to restaurant recipes and standards, • Work efficiently at the hot line, cold line, hot pass, or wok station, • Check the quality, presentation, temperature, and accuracy of each dish before it leaves the kitchen, • Coordinate orders and communicate clearly with the kitchen team, • Maintain a clean and organized workstation, • Use kitchen equipment and tools properly and safely, • Follow all NYC Department of Health food handling and sanitation requirements, • Assist with general kitchen preparation and cleaning as needed Qualifications • Professional experience as a line cook, wok cook, or in a similar kitchen role, • Experience preparing Chinese food is a plus, • Knowledge of wok cooking techniques is a plus, • Ability to manage multiple orders in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen, • Understanding of proper food handling and kitchen safety practices, • Reliable, organized, and able to work well as part of a team, • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

Support daily kitchen operations by reorganizing and restocking supplies, sweeping and mopping floors, and cleaning and sanitizing tables and food-preparation surfaces. Wash dishes and help maintain clean, organized back-of-house, front-of-house, and dining areas. Perform a deep cleaning of the restaurant each month.
