Job DescriptionSalary: LMR provides industrial support services across the Undersea Weapons Department (Code 30), Test and Evaluation Department (Code 20), Undersea Systems & Sustainment Department (Code 40) and Unmanned and Theater Undersea Warfare Systems Department (Code 50), of the Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC) Division, Keyport (NUWCDIVKPT). The Machinery Maintenance Mechanic will provide technical support services associated with various industrial operations, depot repair activities, and torpedo intermediate maintenance functions. Reporting to the Program Manager, the Machinery Maintenance Mechanic performs preventative and corrective maintenance on a wide array of industrial fabrication equipment to include Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machines, manual machines, hydraulic presses, environmental ovens, blasting equipment, electronic fabrication equipment, paint/coatings equipment, robotics, 3D printers, and the auxiliary air and water systems that support them. The Machinery Maintenance Mechanic manages maintenance scheduling databases and communicates and coordinates repairs in a team environment on programs supporting the NUWCDIVKPT Industrial Support Services (ISS) contract. Location: Keyport, WA Job Description: • Manufacture, repair, and modify hardware components utilizing CNC and manual machine tools such as lathes, mills, and machining centers. A variety of part sizes and material types are machined at Keyport with precision tolerances., • Responsible for the machine setup and production of acceptable parts at the required quantities., • Using Government shop orders, drawings, procedures, and specifications, perform machining operations utilizing both contractor and government machine tools., • Follow the Shop Workload Management System (SWMS) maintenance database, manufacturing schedule, blueprints, technical manuals, and engineering specifications to maintain and make minor repairs on the industrial machinery and equipment identified in SWMS maintenance database., • Perform lock-out tag-out procedures in accordance with all required directives and regulations., • Utilize the internet to research for the ordering of replacement parts., • Keep up-to-date records via SWMS maintenance database of preventative and corrective maintenance and repairs, adjustments, and calibrations performed to identify potential problems and service equipment before factory production is interrupted., • Using Government supplied equipment, tools, chemicals and lubricants, must be able to:, • Perform the machinery maintenance in accordance with the SWMS maintenance database., • Provide recommendations to the Government for repairs. With Government approval, be able to make minor repairs., • Maintain and update the SWMS maintenance database. This database schedules all preventative maintenance and documents all corrective actions., • Other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications: • At least three (3) years of experience maintaining industrial equipment., • Apprenticeship or demonstrated formal training., • Prior experience machining parts by programming, setting up, and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine., • The ability to operate heavy machinery and industrial tools with limited to no supervision. Examples may include but are not limited to: Electric/Diesel Forklift, CNC Milling Machine, Welding/Soldering, CAT III Overhead Crane, pallet jack, "Big Joe" stand-behind pallet lift mechanism, and more., • Ability to manage complex schedules., • Must possess basic computer literacy and data entry skills., • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (to include MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)., • Experience with general welding., • Ability to work well in a design team and handle multiple designs., • Some manual lifting up to 75 pounds may be required with this position., • May be required to complete a fitness-for-duty physical/screening, as required by the government for work in specific shops., • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future. Preferred Qualifications: • A current, active secret security clearance is preferred., • Shop Workload Management System (SWMS) knowledge/experience., • Licensed and certified to operate 6,000-pound electric and diesel forklift and CAT III overhead crane., • Experience with 3D Printing and design., • Certified Welder (CW): experienced welder with American Welding Society (AWS) AQC7 certification. Proficient in the Flux-Cord Arc Welding (FCAW) and Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) processes., • Five (5) or more years of experience in drafting., • Experience working with both AutoCAD and SolidWorks. *This job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required by this position.
