We are seeking a passionate and creative Chef de Cuisine (Executive Chef-level role) to join a high-end, dinner-only steakhouse located within a premier, luxury entertainment and hospitality destination in the Kansas City area. This is an excellent opportunity for a driven culinary leader looking to grow within a concept that prioritizes quality, innovation, and internal promotion/long-term development. This is a highly hands-on leadership position where you will oversee daily operations, lead execution during service, and uphold best-in-class standards across quality, safety, and presentation. You will lead pre-shift walk-throughs with both BOH and FOH teams, maintain a strong presence on the line and in the dining room, and engage with VIP clientele who frequent the property. Success in this role comes from owning both the expo line and the guest experience - delivering a seamless, elevated service from kitchen to table. Key Responsibilities Include: • Personally, and alongside kitchen staff, facilitate all food preparation, presentation, and service procedures as directed., • Act as the primary expeditor, ensuring accuracy, timing, and quality of all dishes leaving the kitchen., • Monitor prepared food quantities and ensure quality and portion standards are consistently met., • Ensure proper rotation and utilization of stored food to minimize waste., • Oversee food preparation to maintain consistency in flavor, presentation, and plating., • Manage daily kitchen staffing, scheduling, and delegation., • Coach and develop BOH staff; address performance issues when necessary., • Requisition food and supplies based on business needs and pars., • Ensure kitchen, prep, and storage areas meet all safety and sanitation standards., • Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free kitchen environment., • Perform other duties as assigned by management. Required Skills and Experience: • 8-10+ years of progressive culinary leadership experience in a similar role, • Experience with a la carte, high-end, classic scratch cooking, • Fine dining experience required (steakhouse strongly preferred), • Strong background in butchery and meat fabrication, • Deep food knowledge and a genuine passion for the culinary space, • Proven leadership and team-building skills with a collaborative mindset, • Continuous improvement mindset around safety, sanitation, and culinary standards, • Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening Compensation & Benefits: • Salary: $80,000 - $100,000, depending on relevant experience, skills, and education/certifications, • Comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, company paid life insurance and long-term disability, 401(k) matching, paid time off, internal promotion/career advancement opportunities, and more.
