About Fast IDP
Fast IDP is a small, growing business that expedites International Driving Permits (IDPs) for US drivers traveling abroad. Our team provides IDPs more quickly than any other service to people who can’t get one in person. The Role
In this role, the day-to-day operations of the business will be your primary domain, and you will be the face of Fast IDP to the customers and service providers you interact with. You’ll be successful if you can stay organized to keep on top of the day’s activities and find ways to improve processes to make your work easier over time.
Each day, you will review and prepare submitted IDP applications from our customers, take them to the AAA office in St. Louis Park for processing, and respond to customer questions by phone and email.
Depending on your interests and business needs, we’d love to see you work on other aspects of the business like operational improvements, marketing, or partnerships.
You’ll report directly to the founder, and will have a clear path to full-time if both sides are interested.
What We Are Looking For
**Minimum requirements:**
- High degree of organizational skills with the ability to prioritize, multi-task, and meet deadlines
- Strong customer service instincts: friendly, patient, responsive, and communicates clearly
- Computer-savviness and comfort with spreadsheets
- Efficient at getting things done and has an eye for finding operational improvements
- Has a reliable means of getting to the AAA office in St. Louis Park, MN
Preferred requirements:
- Curious about AI. Either you already use tools like ChatGPT or Claude in daily life, or you are eager to learn.
- Experience in a start-up or interested in learning about how a business in a niche industry works. Comfortable with ambiguity and energized by improving processes as the business grows.
This role could be a great fit if you’re a recent college graduate looking for mentorship, real responsibility, and a place to grow; or if you have plenty of work experience and are looking for a positive work environment and somewhat flexible part-time hours with room to expand.
Schedule and Location
- Start date: Ideally July, 2026
- Daily schedule: Monday through Friday, 3 to 6 hours per day, based on daily workload and responsibilities you want to take on. You should be available in the 1 to 5 pm CT range daily, with some flexibility possible based on individual preferences. The AAA office closes at 5pm, so your day will definitely end by 5pm, or shortly thereafter.
- Location: You will go to AAA in person on a daily basis (5400 Auto Club Way, St Louis Park, MN 55416) and otherwise work from your home.
- Equipment and supplies: We provide printers and other job supplies for you to use while you work with us. You will use your own laptop and provide your own transportation.
Compensation and Growth
- $25 to $35 per hour, structured as hourly contractor
- ~15 to ~30 hours per week, with the potential to shift to full-time
- We’ll compensate for up to 30 minutes of travel time per day
- Opportunity to take on more scope and responsibility as you gain experience and the business grows
- You’ll report directly to the founder, Jamie Patrick. Jamie believes in fostering a supportive and growth-oriented culture, and is dedicated to making Fast IDP a great place to work. He has started multiple businesses, was previously a consultant at McKinsey, and holds an MBA from Stanford University.
