  We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Automotive Mechanic to join our service team. The ideal candidate will have comprehensive experience in automotive repair and maintenance, with a strong focus on diagnosing and repairing a variety of vehicle issues. This role involves working on diverse vehicle makes and models, including GM vehicles, utilizing advanced diagnostic tools and mechanical expertise to ensure optimal vehicle performance and safety. Duties Perform detailed diagnostics using automotive electrical systems, schematics, and diagnostic tools to identify issues accurately. Conduct repairs and maintenance on various vehicle systems including powertrain, transmissions, suspension, alignment, brakes, shocks & struts, tire service, and oil changes. Repair or replace components such as ADAS systems, air brakes, wheel alignments, and auto body parts as needed. Utilize hand tools and power tools efficiently for repairs and maintenance tasks. Conduct diesel engine repairs and maintain diesel-powered vehicles. Perform welding and other mechanical repairs to ensure vehicle integrity. Maintain detailed records of repairs performed and communicate findings clearly to customers. Ensure all work complies with safety standards and manufacturer specifications. Requirements Proven mechanic experience with a strong background in automotive diagnostics and repair. Dealership experience is preferred but not mandatory; however, familiarity with GM vehicles is a plus. Knowledge of automotive electrical systems, schematics, powertrain components, transmissions, and suspension systems. Ability to perform oil changes, brake repairs, wheel alignments, tire services, shocks & struts replacement, and auto body repairs. Experience with ADAS calibration, diesel engine repair, auto estimating, and auto body work is advantageous. Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and automotive maintenance procedures. Strong mechanical knowledge combined with excellent customer service skills. Ability to read technical manuals and schematics accurately. Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record preferred. Compensation: $30.07 - $45.11 Hourly Pay What you’ll be doing: • Troubleshoot sources of equipment problems through observation and use of precision measuring and testing instruments., • Assist other maintenance personnel with emergency and non-emergency repairs., • Troubleshoot and repair Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC’s) and associated control systems., • Follow blueprints, schematics, operation manuals, manufacturer’s instructions, and engineering specifications., • Perform boiler chemical and wastewater pre-treatment system testing, record results in logbooks / computer systems and make necessary chemical adjustments as required., • Perform daily and weekly safety checks on boilers and make necessary repairs as required., • Inspect motor, belts, fluid levels, replace filters and perform other maintenance actions in accordance with maintenance procedures., • Performing basic welding activities to effect repairs on facilities and equipment., • Inspect, clean and lubricate shafts, bearings gears and other equipment parts in accordance with work procedures and technical manual., • Utilize a Computerized Maintenance Management System., • Perform other duties as assigned by leadership. Qualifications What we’re looking for: • High school diploma or GED equivalent required., • Two-year technical degree in an appropriate background is preferred., • Must be at least 18 years of age., • Knowledgeable in industrial maintenance of facilities and equipment., • Minimum of 1 year of work experience repairing industrial processing equipment in a production environment required. Applicable military experience will be considered., • Must pass UniFirst’s maintenance knowledge assessment to be eligible for employment., • Ability to read blueprints and schematics is required., • Ability to read and understand maintenance literature printed in English required., • Basic computer and Microsoft Office skills is required., • Lockout / Tagout experience is required Ability to work overtime as needed is required.
