JOB SUMMARY: The Operations Supervisor leads a team to ensure safe, efficient, and accurate daily operations. Key responsibilities include coaching and developing staff, managing schedules and workflow, maintaining inventory and ERP accuracy, and supporting logistics and shipment coordination. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: • Drive a safe work environment and zero-injury safety culture, ensure safety rules are clear and followed., • Manages direct reports through coaching and supporting their training, development, and productivity., • Regular and reliable attendance., • Establish and maintain a cross-functional staffing and training plan for your team, provide regular feedback and coaching to your direct reports., • Perform administrative activities necessary for the effective management of your team, including administrating time and attendance, managing personnel and production schedules, compiling production data, analyzing trends, and completing reports., • Ensure the schedule meets production standards, volume, and mix requirements to meet customer deliveries., • Develop understanding of the end-to-end production process in order to effectively manage daily operations, drive continuous improvement, develop and ensure standard operating practices, and provide overall guidance to your direct team., • Ownership of logistics and production scheduling activities and management of team members., • Responsible for inventory, production, and logistics transactional accuracy and data management in ERP through review of various reports and corrective actions to facilitate production scheduling and inventory visibility., • Assists with the scheduling of shipments and communicates with affected departments and customers regarding arrival dates., • Assists with coordination of plant functions, responsibilities, budgetary performance, manpower utilization, skills, equipment, facilities and production control and inventory control systems., • Develop and ensure work instructions are available, accurate, and utilized., • Assists with root cause investigations for quality related issues., • Attends and at times leads cross functional daily management meetings (DMM)., • Participates in SIOP activities with contributions as deemed necessary from manager., • Maintains a positive work environment by behaving and communicating in a professional manner with customers, co-workers, clients, and other department leaders., • Prepares reports and presentations for internal and external use., • Responsible for assisting with the physical inventory process as designated by the Operations Manager., • Support continuous learning of self and others., • Carry out leadership responsibilities in accordance with company policies and applicable laws., • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor. 14 Harmich Road, South Plainfield, New Jersey 07080, United States$98,000 - $110,000Please note that the compensation details listed reflect salary only, and do not include bonus or profit-sharing. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on the job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this position. The range may vary by location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by additional factors, including job related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.In addition to base salary, this role will be eligible for participation in Canam Steel Corp (CSC)'s benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, (plus additional voluntary benefits) and 401K (with employer match). REQUIREMENTS: • High school diploma or equivalent., • Bachelor's degree in business, management, engineering or other related field preferred, • 3-5 years of experience in industrial manufacturing., • Working knowledge of LEAN Manufacturing Principles preferred., • Demonstrated ability to direct, coach, and train associates as well as plan, monitor, and schedule work., • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems., • PC skills including MS Word and MS Excel minimum., • Experience with inventory, shipping, receiving, and production software preferred., • Effective oral and written communication skills (customer oriented both externally and internally)., • Must be able to make independent decisions based on previously developed practices and procedures., • Ability to interact with all levels of the organization., • Some travel (less than 10%) PHYSICAL DEMANDS: • Frequent communication with others to exchange information., • Frequent repetition of motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers., • Frequent moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another., • Occasional adjusting or moving objects up to 50 pounds in all directions., • Constantly remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods., • Constant use of computer for prolonged periods., • Constantly thinking and processing information., • Constantly maintaining concentration and focus on tasks. WORK ENVIRONMENT: • General office environment., • May require occasional exposure to production areas with airborne particles, loud noises, and extreme heat and cold.
