I am an experienced hairstylist seeking a dedicated assistant to join me at the salon I call home in Manhattan's East Village. This role involves working Tuesdays, Thursdays, and every other Wednesday, with shifts typically lasting 10–12 hours. Key responsibilities include shampooing, applying glosses, and providing blowouts and styling. The ideal candidate should have some prior salon experience. Looking for a personable, positive individual who has great customer service and people skills. Someone who takes instruction and feedback well, and who has a desire to learn and grow in the industry. With nearly 20 years of experience and a background as head of education, I am passionate about teaching and have successfully trained over 10 assistants. The platform is not to be used to build personal off-platform clientele., • Exchanging personal contact information with clients for off-platform bookings will result in immediate termination., • Professional social media accounts may be monitored to ensure brand integrity. ⸻ Experience & Qualifications • Proven experience in cosmetology or barbering, • Strong foundation in blowouts, braiding, precision cuts, bridal styling, on-set, and runway work, • Advanced color theory knowledge (balayage, highlights, corrective color), • Hair extension application and removal experience preferred, • Nail technology certification highly desirable, • Expertise in makeup artistry and brow shaping (threading, tweezing, lamination), • Experience with lash extensions, lift & tint is a plus, • Strong communication skills and elevated client service abilities, • Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced luxury environments while maintaining immaculate sanitation standards In-person onboarding in Midtown Manhattan is required.
