Key Responsibilities: Food Preparation & Cooking: Lead the preparation, seasoning, and cooking of menu items with consistent quality. Ensure all dishes meet high taste and presentation standards. Creativity & Innovation: Develop and propose new menu items or enhancements to existing recipes. Collaborate with management on seasonal specials and promotions. Leadership: Oversee kitchen to ensure smooth and efficient operations. Maintain standard for techniques, safety, and food quality standards. Quality & Inventory Control: Maintain inventory levels, manage orders, and minimize waste. Ensure food safety, cleanliness, and compliance with all health regulations. Customer Focus: Uphold a commitment to delivering exceptional food and customer service - charisma and friendliness. Qualifications: Proven experience as a cook in a fast-paced kitchen environment; leadership experience is a plus. Strong culinary skills with the ability to produce high-quality dishes consistently. Creativity and a knack for crafting flavorful, appealing dishes. Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards. Excellent communication and organizational skills. We’re excited to announce the opening of our soul food and vegan soul food truck in Teaneck, NJ, this April, and we’re searching for a talented and experienced Head Chef to lead our kitchen team. Responsibilities: • Oversee all kitchen operations, including menu execution and food preparation. • Maintain high-quality recipes and standards. • Train, manage, and inspire kitchen staff. • Ensure food safety and sanitation compliance at all times. • Manage inventory, order supplies, and control food costs. • Collaborate with ownership to innovate and refine menu offerings. • Handle high-volume service efficiently and effectively. Qualifications: • 2+ years of professional kitchen experience, preferably in leadership roles (food truck experience is a plus). • Strong knowledge of soul food and/or vegan cuisine. • Exceptional organizational, time management, and multitasking skills. • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. • Leadership and team-building abilities with excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities - Prepare a wide variety of goods such as cakes, cookies, pies, bread etc. following traditional and modern recipes - Create new and exciting desserts to renew our menus and engage the interest of customers - Decorate pastries using different icings, toppings etc. to ensure the presentation will be beautiful and exciting - Monitor stocks for baking ingredients such as flour, sugar etc. and make appropriate orders within budget - Check quality of material and condition of equipment and devices used for cooking - Guide and motivate pastry assistants and bakers to work more efficientlyIdentify staffing needs and help recruit and train personnel - Maintain a lean and orderly cooking station and adhere to health and safety standards
