We are currently seeking a Bilingual Teacher Assistant (Chinese/Spanish) who is passionate about education and language equity to join our growing instructional team. Position Overview: The Teacher Assistant will work closely with lead instructors to support classroom instruction and provide bilingual assistance to students and families. This includes translating instructional materials, offering student support in Chinese or Spanish, and ensuring effective communication between teachers, students, and families. Key Responsibilities: • Assist instructors during lessons, providing support in English and Chinese or Spanish, • Translate educational materials, assignments, and classroom communications, • Offer one-on-one or small group academic support to multilingual students, • Help manage classroom activities or online sessions (Zoom, Google Meet, etc.), • Grade student work and help maintain academic records, • Support communication with parents/guardians in Chinese or Spanish as needed, • Assist in preparing classroom materials and maintaining an organized learning environment, • Attend team meetings and staff training sessions Qualifications: • Fluent in English and either Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) or Spanish (both preferred), • High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework preferred, • Experience in a tutoring or classroom setting is a plus, • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills, • Familiarity with standardized test formats (SAT, ACT, AP) is a bonus, • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, • Tech-savvy and comfortable with virtual learning tools Preferred Qualifications: • Experience working with English Language Learners (ELL), • Interest in pursuing a career in education or linguistics, • Strong academic skills in math, English, or science, • Flexible availability (evenings/weekends may be required) What We Offer: • Competitive hourly pay, • Flexible scheduling options, • Opportunity for professional growth and advancement, • Supportive, diverse, and mission-driven team, • Training and mentorship in education and test preparation

  Job Description ACLD is currently looking for a Special Education Itinerant Teacher (SEIT) The Children’s Services of ACLD provides a continuum of services to children from ages three to twenty-one in their pre-school and after-school programs. We currently have an opportunity for a Behavior Support Specialist to join our Bay Shore facility. In this role, you will assist in the implementation of positive behavioral interventions, supports and services utilizing the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). Primary Purpose: The primary goal of Special Education Itinerant Teacher (SEIT) is to provide the necessary special education supports to help the child benefit from participation in a community early childhood program. The SEIT will focus on teaching the child to function within the educational setting independently without SEIT support. Requirements • New York State Certification: Students with Disabilities (Birth to grade 2) or SWD All Grades or Special Education Permanent, • Minimum 1-year experience working with preschool aged children with special needs preferred., • Must be physically able to handle all aspects of the supervision of the day-to-day activities of preschoolers which may include, but not limited to, running, bending, squatting, sitting on the floor, and kneeling Additional Knowledge, Skills and Ability • The ability to work independently., • Strong written and oral communication skills, • Must plan and prioritize work effectively, • Professional, dependable and responsible, • Must adhere to strict deadlines for reporting required, • Maintain Professional Boundaries, • Flexible, Professional, dependable and responsible, • Work 1:1 with children, ages 3-5 years, in community and homebased settings, • Maintain positive relationships with parents, teachers, related service providers and supervisors, • Evaluate and assessing the student’s needs, • Utilize positive behavior support strategies, • Adapt teaching methods and providing resources to meet the needs of the student, • Follow all mandates on an IEP, • Plan activities/lessons to target the IEP goals/objectives, • Ongoing assessment and documentation of children’s performance, remediation needs, and progress., • Maintain accurate attendance records for all assigned children, • Work in diverse settings such as student homes, family daycare homes, daycare centers, and/or other community settings., • Complete and submit sessions notes after each session, • Complete quarterly progress reports in a timely manner in concert with municipality and SED requirements, • Complete annual review report(s) in a timely manner in concert with municipality and SED requirements, • Attend CPSE meeting(s) for student(s) as required, • Other duties as assigned.
