Payroll Manager (US Lead) • Compensation: $100,000 - $170,000 base + 10% bonus, • Location: New York, • Hybrid working model: 4 days on site, • The payroll: Highly complex payroll for 5,000+ employees across all US states, using Oracle Fusion, in a unionized environment, with a substantial hourly-rate population and multiple weekly payrolls across 10+ legal entities We are partnering with a highly reputable, global client seeking a Payroll Manager to lead their US payroll team and oversee a large-scale, complex payroll. This is a pivotal role within a team undergoing transformation, where strong leadership, technical expertise in Oracle Fusion, and excellent communication skills will be key to success. The Role: • Lead day-to-day payroll operations and compliance for 5,000+ employees across all US states, in a heavily unionized environment, with a large hourly-rate population and high turnover across multiple legal entities, • Lead and develop a team of payroll professional, with a focus on knowledge transfer, accountability, and growth, • Oversee multiple payrolls (weekly and bi-weekly) for hourly, unionized and salaried employees, • Ensure seamless and accurate onboarding and offboarding of a high volume of employees on a weekly basis, including compliance with states requiring same-day termination pay, • Strengthen SOPs, drive accuracy, and ensure compliance through reconciliation, validation, and variance analysis, • Partner with HR and business leaders to rebuild trust, enhance controls, and deliver a reliable payroll experience, • Actively contribute to payroll systems improvements, testing, and integrations (Oracle Fusion, UKG, ADP), • Oversee a hybrid payroll model: in-house processing with ADP support for tax compliance, garnishments, and money movement Essential Requirements: • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP), • Proven experience managing large, complex, multi-state payrolls (5,000+ employees), • Comfortable operating in fast-paced, high-turnover, unionized environments with large hourly-rate populations, • Strong working knowledge of Oracle Fusion payroll (implementation and testing experience highly valued), • Excellent communicator with the ability to influence stakeholders, develop teams, and drive accountability, • Demonstrated success leading through change, improving processes, and building scalable payroll operations Ready to Apply?
