Responsibilities Job Purpose The Snack Bar Attendant is responsible for serving food and drinks at the club snack bar to members and guests. Compensation $16.50 - $17/hr Responsibilities • Assist members and guests in food and beverage selection by describing special offerings or menu changes, answering food preparation questions, recording member/guest selections and upselling where possible. Relay orders to kitchen or prepare food directly, identifying any special requests and entering orders into register, • Deliver orders to members and guests with appropriate accompaniments or garnishes. Ensure orders meet proper presentation and quality standards, package take-out orders as needed, and serve alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages, • Process sales through the Point-of-Sale system (POS), • Maintain attractive food displays and clean tables, counters, dishes, chairs, floors and equipment. Ensure sufficient levels of inventory in storage rooms and refrigerators, • Manage cash and balance register at the end of each shift. Inform management of supply shortages and upcoming events that affect snack bar operations, • Follow closing procedures, • Adhere to company policies and procedures regarding attendance, timekeeping, dress code and safety, • Assist other food and beverage outlets as requested by management, • Assist in training other snack bar attendants, • Other duties may be assigned by management Qualifications Qualifications • Must be of legal age to sell and serve alcoholic beverages, applicable state card or certificate must be provided if required by state law, • Experience handling cash and credit card transactions, • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, perform multiple tasks and prioritize efficiently, • Knowledge of applicable liquor laws, procedures and policies, ability to determine signs of intoxication, • Knowledge of proper food preparation, storage, and sanitation requirements Education • High School diploma or equivalent experience preferred Skills/Abilities/Personal Characteristics • Knowledge of Food Service Regulations, • Flexibility, • Verbal and Written Communication, • Basic Math, • Customer Service, • Resolve Conflict, • Teamwork Working Conditions • Days and hours of work vary by schedule and business needs, • Evening, weekend, and holiday work will be required, • While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to stand for long periods of time, to walk, read, hear, talk, balance, climb, use hands, use fingers, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, smell, taste, push or pull. Job Description TITLE: NYC - Bar Associate DEPARTMENT: Food & Beverage REPORTS TO: Bar Supervisor LOCATION: New York, NY HOURS: Part time PAY TYPE: Hourly PAY RATE: $18/hour FLSA STATUS: Non-exempt Role Summary The Bar Associate operates the Bar at the Museum of Sex with goals of creating a sales bonanza, guest focused, and fun-loving culture, while keeping safety top of mind. Greeting guests, upselling drinks, food, and merchandise on the Bar floor are some of the daily tasks. Primary Job Responsibilities * Be an example of guest service excellence for the Bar and other departments. * Maintain strong sales figures for yourself and the team. * Make and serve drinks accurately behind the bar and on the bar floor as a host. * Keep Bar and Bar floor clean at all times. * Report all guest complaints and staffing challenges to the Senior Leadership Team, as needed. * Handle operational challenges as they occur. * Perform additional duties as required. * Welcome guests to the Bar with enthusiasm. * Upsell drinks, food, and merchandise from the floor. * Provide menus to guests exiting Guest Experience. * Greet customers upon their arrival. * Cater to guests who require extra attention (Large Event Parties). * Answer and address guests’ inquiries on the floor. * An up-to-date Food Handlers certification is required. * Answer and address guests’ inquiries on the floor. * Facilitate internal communication, as needed, with critical support departments: Operations, HR, Administration, etc. * Maintain the ability to work nights and weekends and extended schedules during peak periods. Provide availability updates and changes when necessary. * Able to move from place to place which may include standing and/or walking for extended periods of time; lift and carry up to 75 pounds short distances. * Perform additional duties as required. Qualifications * Must have sales experience working at a hotel, cocktail lounge, restaurant, or bar where alcohol is served and the job entails driving F&B sales. * You are passionate about providing an exemplary experience for guests. * You have an exuberant, outgoing personality and you are eager to engage guests with a smile and energy. * You have excellent communication skills, the ability to speak and connect with all guests, and are organized. * You thrive working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with large crowds. * You have the ability to work nights, weekends, and some holidays. * Multilingual is a plus. * Strong work ethic and ability to work effectively as part of a team. * Familiarity with health and safety regulations. * Must be able to stand and walk for a shift. * Hospitality, Bar, and Food Handlers certification is a plus. There are no hazards and no protective devices worn or used in the office work environment.
