About the Role To provide exceptional support to Project Operations and Management teams in implementing Rosemar’s Corporate Environmental Health and Safety Management Program, managing workplace accidents and incidents, maintaining required documentation, and fostering a strong safety culture within the organization. Responsibilities • Maintain the company’s Environmental Health and Safety Program, conduct hazard assessments, develop corrective actions, and implement changes., • Present a Safety focused, positive and professional image of the organization when interacting with employees and the public., • Conduct field inspections, develop positive working relationships with crews to encourage buy-in of our safety program., • Conduct on-site accident and incident investigations, develop written reports, determine root cause, collect evidence, and maintain documentation to answer claim inquiries from Various Carriers., • Manage and delegate responsibilities to subordinates., • Manage accident and injury claims, communicate with insurance broker, adjusters, counsel, and corp. management team to review and prepare defense of the company, responsible for managing claims to final resolution., • Continuously maintain a document management system to track training certifications, develop timelines to re-certify, schedule trainings, communicate training status of employees to relevant departments., • Develop, maintain and distribute toolbox talk topics that are communicated weekly to crews and ensure that these topics are covered in the regularly scheduled job-site meetings., • Maintain first aid kits, PPE, and other consumables., • Maintain Employee badges and follow procedures for projects on MTA, LIRR, Airports etc., • Maintain OSHA 300 Log & Summary of Work-Related Injuries and Illnesses., • Maintain accurate data, while upholding the company confidentiality practices., • Additional tasks as assigned, act as a point of contact as applicable. Qualifications • 5 years’ experience in safety or claims management role in the construction industry, preferred., • OSHA 30-Hour Construction Training, preferred., • Applicable experience working for road and heavy highway contractor, with a background in road paving and milling preferred., • OSHA 500/510 Construction trainer certification, preferred., • Professional certifications (ASP, GSP, CSP, SMS, CHST, STSC), preferred., • Knowledge of construction safety rules and regulations (OSHA, federal, state, and local), hazard identification, root cause analysis, risk management, etc., • Strong written and verbal communication skills., • Strong attention to detail, ability to manage multiple tasks, and prioritize urgent requests to meet deadlines., • Proficient with a standard office PC, as well as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), Adobe Acrobat, and any additional job-related software. Required Skills • Strong written and verbal communication skills., • Strong attention to detail, ability to manage multiple tasks, and prioritize urgent requests to meet deadlines., • Proficient with a standard office PC, as well as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), Adobe Acrobat, and any additional job-related software. Pay range and compensation package • Annual Salary $80,000 - $90,000 commensurate on experience, • Partial Employer Contribution to Medical Premiums, • 401k match up to 4% in addition to Profit Sharing Rosemar is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
