Job Summary Responsible for permanently joining metal parts using high heat application to form a permanent bond. May specialize in one of hundreds of different processes of welding to join metals together. Will use automatic or semi-automatic machines and related equipment in a continuous production/processing operation. Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures. Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities • Hand welds various fittings to different sizes of pipes and welding joints., • Interprets application job sheets and various sizes of welding fittings., • Analyzes all welds to ensure they are free of porosity and discontinuities., • Ensures all welds are visibly stamped or identified with markings to designate that welds were performed by a certified welder., • Reviews the order ticket and determines whether the work to be performed meets the customer's specifications., • Verifies the final product meets quality control standards., • Performs other duties as assigned. Preferred Qualifications • Certified pressure pipe welder, • Experience in full pen welds and pipe fitting welds, • Ability to qualify and maintain all shop weld procedures Typical Training/Experience • HS Diploma or GED, strongly preferred., • Selects correct processes from clearly prescribed rules, past practices, or instruction., • Seeks advice and guidance on non-routine or problem areas from supervisor., • Under close supervision, exercises limited latitude/independent judgment., • Work typically involves detailed checks or close review of output by a senior coworker and/or supervisor.
