Job Description SHOP WELDER / FABRICATOR Special Event Fabrication company seeks shop welders with 2+ year's experience to work as needed on various projects. Secaucus, NJ based shop fully equipped. Working under the supervision of the Metal Shop Foreman, candidates for should possess solid metal working skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to interpret artistic and technical drawings. Problem-solving skills and adaptability are crucial, as the work often requires on-the-spot adjustments and creative solutions. Experienced Welders/Fabricators should be well versed in aluminum and steel MIG welding. TIG welding knowledge and ability to read CAD drawings is a plus. ESSENTIAL – REQUIRED SKILLS 1. Perform MIG welding on various steel and aluminum profiles such as box tube, pipe, flat bar etc., 2. Use proper cutting and drilling technique prior to assembly, 3. Understanding of common framing layout and using jigs and clamps to make consistent and repeatable piece, 4. Read and interpret technical drawings, 5. Operate and maintain welding equipment and tools effectively, 6. Collaborate with team members to complete custom fabrication projects on time, 7. Knowledge of proper use of various tools such as angle grinder, mill, chop saw etc., 8. Must have a basic understanding of rigging and safety, comfortable working while on aerial scissor lifts and ladders, 9. Physically capable of undertaking the requirements of the position including lifting, bending, stretching and reaching for long periods of time, 10. Adhere to safety standards and proper handling of equipment and gear, 11. Ability to organize/prioritize and complete multiple tasks simultaneously on the job, 12. Effective time management skills and the ability to work as part of a team in a busy workshop environment GENERAL SHOP DUTIES · Assembly of finished scenery using hand tools such as wrenches and drills · Knowledge of basic carpentry is a plus but not required · Understanding what kind of maintenance each machine requires, using oil to keep machines from rusting and keeping an eye on any tool for wear · SUPPORT WORK-Keeping shop clean. If not currently assigned a task, cleaning and putting tools away · Accept all other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor/manager SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES To ensure all jobs are set and follow all OSHA and KadaN Standards -Hourly Position with possibility of overtime when necessary.
