Job Description SUMMARY: The Construction Laborer supports construction projects by performing a variety of manual tasks to ensure job sites are safe, clean, and efficient. This role is essential to assisting skilled tradespeople and keeping projects on schedule. Skilled Job Functions: • Follow directions provided by foreman as to daily construction-related tasks;, • Utilize tools and equipment necessary to each job assignment;, • Observe company policies and safe work practice guidelines, including, but not limited to those required by OSHA., • Clean and prepare construction sites to eliminate possible hazardous materials., • Load, unload and identify building materials, machinery, and tools and distribute them to the appropriate locations, according to project plans and specifications., • Mop, brush, and spread paints, cleaning solutions, or other compounds over surfaces to clean them or to provide protection., • Clean and maintain tools and other equipment., • High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is preferred, • Previous related experience in the construction field, • Knowledge of materials methods and tools involved in construction, • Ability to read, write and do basic mathematical calculations, • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing;, • Ability to use tools and equipment properly and safely;, • Able to stand, walk, use hands and fingers to manipulate objects or controls, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl talk and hear., • Vision abilities (with correction) including close, distance, peripheral, depth and the ability to adjust focus;, • Able to work in all weather conditions;, • The employee will frequently be required to walk, stand, sit, bend, climb, reach and use hands., • Utilization of personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated operations and production areas as required by OSHA. PPE required may include, but not be limited to, face shield, hard-toe safety shoes and coveralls., • Must be 18 years of age or older;, • Must pass pre-employment screening, • Minimum current OSHA 40-hour certification
