Job Description Residential Caretaker/Handyman Caretaker/Handyman wanted for a prestigious North Shore & East End private home. This is a full-time position, and the successful candidate will have the following skills: □ Understand HVAC systems, plumbing, generator, built in pool systems, hot tub and pond pump operation, minor electrical as well as exterior grounds maintenance. There are service contracts in place for major service items, but candidate must be able to look at and determine what may be needed in the event of a breakdown or service issue. Use hand tools, power tools, power washers, blowers, ladders etc. □ Be able to work with tools, make minor repairs, assist with coordinating service contractors at the residences and help with the owners’ requirements and scheduling of visitors and guests as directed. □ Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and the ability to climb & stand on ladder safely. □ Keep up with normal maintenance and upkeep making sure the home is always in “ready” condition for owners and guest use. □ Supervise contractors making certain all service contracts are carried out in a timely fashion and on schedule. □ Candidate must be proficient and have experience running a private home. Detail oriented, adaptable/flexible, dependable, proactively working independently. □ Communicate well with the owner and all people. □ Typical tasks include but are not limited to: 1. Responsible for overseeing residences & grounds, 2. Responsible to oversee & supervise third party service providers, 3. General hands-on property management & maintenance, 4. Weekly home & Grounds inspections, 5. Responsible for Seasonal startups & close ups, 6. Light repairs using hand, power tools & equipment, 7. Clear walkways, power washing, outdoor furnishings, painting & trash removal, 8. Oversee care of pools, ponds & Koi fish feeding, 9. Drive owners’ vehicles for service & fuel, 10. Monitor utilities usage, 11. Assist owner & guests with professionalism, 12. Ensure exceptional indoor & outdoor curb appeal. □ Normal working hours are (5-6) days weekly, this candidate must be flexible and able to conform to activities at homes and work necessary days and hours as directed. □ Candidate must be able to be proficient in Outlook email, I-phone & I-Pad to be able to communicate & conduct internet searches and have a vehicle with clean driver’s license. □ All potential candidates will need to agree to a criminal background check. Work Schedule: 8-hour shift (Typically 8am - 4pm, Summer hours will include weekends & increase during summer months).
