Position Overview The Finance and Accounting Manager will be responsible for creating financial strategies and managing all aspects of Astute's finance and accounting functions. The position ensures Astute maintains strong financial stability and assists in achieving Astute's long-term goals. This role is responsible for preparing financial statements, managing journal entries, and budgeting. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of accounting principles, strong organizational skills, and exceptional communication skills. Key Responsibilities • Manage accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and financial reporting, • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in QuickBooks, • Reconcile bank statements, credit card statements, and other financials monthly, • Complete month-end and year-end closing procedures, including journal entries and financial statement preparation, • File monthly sales tax and prepare financial statements for tax preparer, • Create and maintain documentation of accounting policies and controls, develop and implement standard operating procedures, policies, and processes to ensure robust internal controls while maintaining operational efficiency, • Perform recurring and non-recurring product margin journal entries to ensure alignment of revenue and COGS, • Reconcile employee benefits costs, perform employee burden rate analysis, and administer employee 401(k) contributions across all departments, • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive financial performance, identify growth opportunities, and mitigate risks, • Perform cash flow forecasting and analysis, identify possible cash deficits, and initiate corrective measures, • Implement expense policies for employees with an emphasis on proper documentation, • Conduct variance analysis of financial statements to ensure informed decision making for the Executive Team by providing understanding of budgetary deviations and performance, • Develop annual budgets and coordinate across departments for budgetary concerns and expense reporting, • Maintain documentation related to vendor contracts, warranties, insurances, and service agreements., • Order office supplies, track inventory, and manage deliveries and office shipments., • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field preferred., • 3+ years of experience in managing accounting operations, • Expert knowledge of Quick Books Online and Microsoft Excel., • Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices., • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping., • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively to meet deadlines., • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with team members., • 100% paid employee health care premium, • 100% paid employee AD&D, STD, and LTD premiums, • 401(k) with 4% company match (fully vested on eligibility after 90 days), • Low-cost dental and vision coverage, • Financial assistance for ongoing professional development and training, • 15 days PTO annually (accrued) and Flex Time, • 40-hour onsite work week required.
