Position Summary: The Frontline Coordinator II plays a critical role in supporting sanitation activities and upholding the highest standards of food safety, sanitation, and efficiency within our salad processing facility. Reporting to the Team Lead, this position is responsible for coordinating the daily activities of cleaning and sanitation associates, ensuring compliance with food safety programs (GMPs, HACCP, and SQF), and delivering hands-on training to team members in both sanitation procedures and operational best practices. This role requires active floor presence in a refrigerated production environment and a strong ability to lead by example. The successful candidate will combine practical sanitation knowledge with leadership and training capabilities to drive performance and ensure regulatory compliance. Key Responsibilities: Lead by Example • Enforce and uphold all safety policies, PPE usage, GMPs, and sanitation protocols., • Ensure full compliance with regulatory and internal standards at all times. Hands-On Training & Coaching • Provide on-the-floor, practical sanitation training to associates, ensuring procedures are understood and followed correctly., • Conduct refresher training as needed and maintain accurate and current training documentation., • Evaluate associate performance and provide constructive feedback and coaching. Team Coordination • Organize and delegate daily sanitation tasks and cleaning schedules., • Coordinate associate breaks and lunches to optimize labor efficiency and maintain cleaning productivity., • Motivate and guide team members to meet daily objectives. Sanitation Execution • Actively participate in sanitation duties, including cleaning, rinsing, and inspecting equipment, tools, and production areas., • Ensure sanitation is thorough, completed on schedule, and meets company and regulatory standards., • Identify and correct any food safety or cleanliness deficiencies. Regulatory & Quality Compliance • Support ongoing adherence to HACCP, GMPs, and SQF protocols., • Assist in internal audits and prepare for third-party inspections., • Document sanitation activities as required by quality systems. Performance Monitoring • Track, analyze, and report key Sanitation KPIs, including but not limited to:, • Sanitation Completion Rate: % of tasks completed on time per schedule., • Post-Sanitation Inspection Pass Rate: % of areas or equipment passing inspection on the first attempt., • Allergen/ATP Swab Results: % passing sanitation verification., • Sanitation Downtime: Total hours of unscheduled downtime due to sanitation issues., • Labor Efficiency: Actual vs. planned labor hours used for sanitation tasks., • Training Compliance Rate: % of sanitation team up to date on required training., • Communicate performance trends to the sanitation team and management to drive improvements. Equipment Oversight & Support • Conduct pre- and post-operational inspections of equipment and work areas., • Assist with basic troubleshooting and ensure equipment is cleaned and sanitized to standard., • Support operators in learning how to detect, report, and resolve equipment sanitation issues. Housekeeping & Cleanliness • Maintain a high standard of organization and cleanliness in work areas., • Ensure cleaning materials and tools are maintained, stored properly, and used safely. Cross-Functional Support • Collaborate with production, maintenance, and quality teams on shared goals., • Support special projects and assist other locations as needed. Minimum Qualifications: • Language Proficiency: Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred due to the language needs of the team., • Education: High School Diploma or GED., • Experience: 2–4 years of relevant experience in a food manufacturing or sanitation role., • Skills & Abilities:, • Strong working knowledge of HACCP, sanitation procedures, and GMPs., • Ability to coach and train others effectively in a hands-on, real-time production environment., • Able to work independently and as part of a team in a cold, wet, fast-paced, 24-hour plant., • Comfortable with physical work, including pushing, moving, or carrying up to 50 lbs frequently.
