Position: Assistant Manager â NYC (First U.S. Location) What You'll Do As Assistant Manager, you'll be the heartbeat of our new NYC âfarmâ: Operations & Leadership ⢠Ensure smooth dayâtoâday flow: service execution, health & safety compliance, cleanliness, and leakâtight operational systems Team Growth & Culture ⢠Recruit, train, mentor, and retain a team of ~10-15 (FrontâofâHouse), ⢠Build a positive culture in line with our six core values: We Give a Fork, Bold but Humble, Start from Scratch, Willing to Learn, Colorful, Committed & Conscious, and The âWowâ Factor., ⢠Propel career developmentâguide Farmers toward leadership roles. Guest Experience & Brand Ambassadorship ⢠Set the tone for hospitality through exceptional guest connection and consistent service standards, ⢠Act as the face of Farmer J in NYCâcultivate community engagement (local farmersâ partnerships, mental health events, sustainability popâups) Quality, Compliance & Sustainability ⢠Guarantee startâfromâscratch cooking, seasonal recipe integrity, allergen protocols, and vendor traceability, ⢠Oversee recycling, composting, and biodegradable packaging goals (95%+ packaging sustainability) Marketing & Community Activation ⢠Localize campaigns in coordination with HQ marketing teams (e.g. Fieldtray launches, seasonal menu rollouts, animalâtherapy or community events) â
What Weâre Looking For Experience & Leadership ⢠2+ years managing highâvolume, highâquality fastâcasual or cafĂŠâstyle restaurants, ⢠Passionate about people developmentâcoaching, mentoring and retaining talent, ⢠Excellent communication skills, with the ability to give clear direction and build strong working relationships across the team and with guests; must be able to communicate effectively in English with guests and staff, ⢠Systems proficiency including Microsoft Office, Toast, CrunchTime, and others Brand Commitment ⢠Deep appreciation for scratch cooking, seasonality, ingredient integrity, welfareâdriven sourcing and ecoâconscious operations, ⢠Enthusiastic champion of Farmer Jâs culture and values Farmer J Fit ⢠You Give a Forkâabout food, about people, about doing things the right way, ⢠You care about where ingredients come from and the impact of how we cook, ⢠You bring energy, warmth, and a humble desire to keep improving ????
