About the Role: We are seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to oversee the firm's day-to-day HR operations while supporting attorneys, staff, and leadership across multiple offices. This role will be responsible for employee relations, performance management, HR compliance, benefits administration, training and development, employee engagement, and overall HR program execution. The ideal candidate is a hands-on HR professional who enjoys building relationships, solving employee challenges, and creating processes that support organizational growth. This position will serve as a key resource for both management and employees while helping maintain a positive, high-performing workplace culture. About the Company: We are a mid-sized law firm located in New Brunswick, New Jersey, with satellite offices in Hammonton, Red Bank, and New York City. HR Manager Key Responsibilities: Employee Relations & HR Support • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee relations matters, providing guidance and support to managers and employees., • Address employee concerns, conduct investigations, and assist with conflict resolution and disciplinary matters., • Coach managers on performance management, employee development, and workplace issues., • Promote a positive and inclusive workplace culture across all offices. Performance Management & Talent Development • Manage and administer performance review processes and employee development initiatives., • Partner with team leaders to identify training and development needs., • Support leadership development and management training programs., • Assist with succession planning and employee retention initiatives. Compensation, Benefits & HR Administration • Administer employee benefits programs and act as liaison with brokers and benefit providers., • Support compensation administration, salary benchmarking, and bonus processes., • Maintain employee records, HR systems, and personnel files., • Ensure accurate HR reporting and recordkeeping. Compliance & Risk Management • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations., • Manage leave administration, accommodations, and employment-related documentation., • Assist with maintaining and updating employee handbook policies and procedures., • Support workplace investigations and employment-related risk management efforts. Employee Engagement & Culture • Plan and coordinate employee engagement activities, recognition programs, and firm-sponsored events., • Support employee wellness initiatives and firm culture programs., • Foster strong relationships with attorneys and staff throughout the organization., • Maintain a visible and approachable HR presence across all offices. HR Manager Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required., • SHRM-CP, PHR, or equivalent certification preferred., • 5+ years of progressive Human Resources experience., • Prior law firm or professional services experience preferred., • Strong knowledge of employee relations, employment law, benefits administration, and HR best practices., • Experience handling employee investigations and performance management matters., • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills., • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities., • High level of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality., • Proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
